hello All,
Decided to take some pictures of various projects that are currently on the bench. This is an original lazer zx. It's interesting to see how different this was from the last optima mid. There are some similarities, but improved drive train and suspension really sets it apart.
This will eventually wind up in the BST section, but for now, I just want to finish it off by adding some yellow velcro straps for the batteries.
Regards,
highwayracer

Yes, A&L...I had to space it correctly so that everything lines up correctly. Once this was done, the steering geometry was perfect.

Nice work, why do you want it to go to the BST?

Hello Erik,
For me, it's always been about the cars that I wanted but could never afford back when I was younger. The lazer is a great car, but I've always been a hornet/optima/jrx2 kind of guy. I never had an emotional tie with the lazer series.
I got as a part of a lot that I bought...and like all of my projects, I wound up putting a lot of thought and money into the build.
I was very close to keeping this one, but I have too many cars with yellow wheels

Yes...sometimes, something as insignificant as that causes me to rethink it's place in the collection. So why not change the color?..it just looks perfect the way it is and I think it would take away from the overall look of the car.
Regards,
Roger

I actually didn't touch this until I sorted everything out in my head. After that, it came together really quickly with the exception of the yellow puretech strap. I have one, but I can't seem to find the other...and I've been putting off getting the ones from ebay.
As for the body, I have a lazer alpha body that I got from Erik. On a car with 2.0 wheels, it looks like a fat body...but on a car that has 2.2 wheels, it looks rather muscular.
Regards,
Roger

I think Bormac has a buddy that repros the original ZX shell (Ant??? something), I have one on my Lazer so if you want one drop him a pm, although with 2.2 it might look even more like a lawn mower
