i bought a 3000mah nimh pack from then and charged it at 2 amps its first and second charge and 4 amps from then one and the battery was pretty hot after each charge. thought it was normal. now after about a month the pack doesnt have the punch it used to. did i kill it and how many amps should i charge it. also i have a 6 cell gp 3300 pack that will only last about 5 mins and then crawls any way to save these to packs?

nimh need to stay charged, if you run them then let them sit for a few weeks in a discharged state it really effects the life of the battery, i got tired of finding i had junk batteries when i would charge one up for after a few weeks, i went lipo and will never go back. one thing i heard (and do this at your own risk) is if you short the cells out it helps break up the crystals in the cells and might bring them back a little. lipo batteries are cheaper in the long run, just charge them up after use and let them sit, they are ready to go weeks later.

i will agree with lostwages....without proper care, NIMH batteries will take a dump on ya. I had $80 packs that I cared for like they were my children that took a crap on me after 10-20 cycles.

I too have made the switch to lipo and LOVE IT.

I still have a few NIMH batteries that I let the boy use to bash his Slash in the back yard.
