Back when I was in full force with these cars years and years ago, I used to make pretty much anything I needed, either out of aluminum (6061, T6), or G10 (garolite), typically around .093" or 3/32, sometimes the thickness isn't exactly that. particularly shock towers, since they tended to get the brunt of crash force.

most of the time, I used fiberglass, and used an original as a master(if I had one), outlining the shape with a sharp blade or punch to get the outline, then used drills, hacksaws, dremel, and most importantly, good sharp files to cut out the part, and file to shape. the file would leave a great finish on the parts.

My friend and I once build a scratch chassis for his RC10, used the stock nose plate, and a flat sheet of 6061 for the main chassis. then used 2 strips of g10 perpendicular, running lengthwise down the chassis, so they bookended the battery, holding it in place. the 'glass mounted to the rear bulkhead, and up front, to a small peice of nylon which formed a bulkhead mount for the nose tubes and the stiffeners. then the whole deal was swiss-cheesed. that was an awesome project, I wish I had pictures.

I saw on a thread here, that you can buy a template to drill a chassis for the stealth trans, someone here might be kind enough to let you pick one up or maybe just borrow it.

I've made motorplates also, but only as a flat sheet, no bends. I just used the original as a template, and clamped them together.

Unfortunately this guy doesn't have many parts available for sale, but the pictures on his site are the absolute best examples of "rc10 metal parts" to be found anywhere:

Atlas' new gold parts kind of remind me of some of inetrc's parts
