Re: RC10B2.0 Baja Project
Well,
No luck in finding a 10th scale Shania...but I did find a scale R/C Baja for my scale Baja!
Now I see why the rock crawler crowd has so much fun!

Re: RC10B2.0 Baja Project
HaHAHa,
Thanks.
Just finished soldering up the LED turn signals in the front bumper.
I found a perfect set up through Ride Makerz that was carefully disected & modified.
If you have a "Ride Makerz" store near you, it's a great place to take your kid. (or yourself) For us scaler types, there's not much that's "true scale", but they do have lots of ideas hanging on the walls. The LED lighting system on my Baja is super bright (comes in amber for turn lamps or white for driving lights), has a momentary switch and batterys all for about $4. You can throw out the cartoonish bumpers or use them for something else. I bought 2 sets, eventually I may install the driving lights in the front bumper. The cool thing is that the Losi Desert Runner already has slots and holes ready for an LED set up!
I just don't have the patience to do the lights in the rack. Besides, when I run it, all the junk in the rack will be removed anyhow.
I expect to solder up the Trinity Speedworks 427 soon...OLD SCHOOL RULES BABY!!
It won't be the fastest project ever, but at least it'll look the part....& it'll be pretty...
Thanks.

Thanks!
I guess it would be 1/5 of 1/10....umm, 1/50th maybe???
1/8th, 1/5th?...I could find anything small enough that looked 10th scale....I could try an old AFX car, it might be close.
It would be funny to have a scale version of a scale version...
It kinda reminded me of one of those HPI's, just on a smaller scale.
My kid has got a Playmobil toy R/C controller (almost looks scale) around somewhere that may find it's way in the rack...I may "borrow" that too.
As soon as I finally finish this one up, I need to get back on his Ultima "Warthog" project...

Re: RC10B2.0 Baja Project
You don't see these every day,
I put in a bid on E-bay awhile back and actually won them for a decent price!
I've always wanted a set.
Years ago they would have been perfect for a monster truck project. The truck wheels looked kinda dorky on a stock B2/3 buggy due to the fact that the front track was always obviously wider that the rear. (when average 2.2 truck wheels were used)
They'd narrow the front track about 1/2" to even things out.
I'm debating if I want to put them on the Baja, but I'm not thrilled on spending another $20 on another set of Lunsford's, since the set that are on it now are only a few months old...& I sure as heck ain't cutting them up. Since the Baja's track width isn't any issue, I'll put these away for awhile.

G2 has the coolest angle and composition, unfortunately it's a little out of frame.

Re: RC10B2.0 Baja Project
Thats VERY Cool! I really like it!
Makes me want to find one and make a similar project. That would make a really cool runner.
*sigh* having so many cars does make projects like this difficult. Too many other things need to get finished first.
