if anyone has any other pics of this car please let me know. :)

so anyway, i spent some time with my dremel modifing a pair of stock bellcranks and chopping the battery box off of the rear bulkhead to get them ready for dye. i'm gonna use either the centerlink from an A&L steering bellcrank, or make my own from a c.c. battery hold down i have.

the new chassis is on the way, as well as a used ko fet servo, and a new ( :D ) ko cx-III esc. the servo will need a little bit of re-wiring, but other than that it looks to be pretty nice. i already have the correct receiver, it just needed a little clean up on the case. i sanded all of the scratches out of it, now it just needs to be polished.

i'm unsure about what shock towers are on it. the front tower's mounting locations are different than stock, so i don't know if it's a custom piece or an aftermarket. i have no idea what the rear looks like, which is why i'm hoping to get some better pics. if not, i'll just put on what i think is right.

another thing i'm unsure of is the trans. do you guys think there could possibly be an mip trans in it, or just a 6 gear? i believe the car is from 88, and that's when the sp-1 came out.

As far as the tranny goes it looks like you can just barely see some of it sticking out in the bottom pic which would lead me to believe 6 gear. Isn't the MIP more narrow where it may not show at all? Just a thought. Heck, you may try setting a 6 gear car at that exact angle and see what it looks like. I saw it in an episode of CSI Miami.

Would the A & L steering center link for a jrx2 be any good? I just got it last week so I didn't have it when you asked. LMK

the losi one is straight, where the ends of the rc10 angle to the rear. the holes to attach it are closer, too. i sent daryl an e-mail about one, so we'll see what happens.

X2 on that.

I'm sure in true scr8p fashion, it will turn out nice.

:P

i was gonna keep my eye open for an original protech body, since i only have a china one left. but when i looked at it, it has the wavy window net like the original. the other ones i had, the netting was perfectly straight up, down, left, and right. so, i guess i'll just use it.

I'm looking forward to this build. I tried to make a replica myself but I only got as far as the paint scheme, decals and rear pink Yokomo wheels. Good luck on the build Scr8p!

yeah, you lucky boy!

I will follow your build very closely Jason, very nice project! Do not forget to forget to dye one of those front arm mounts by the way  Or dye them both, break the right one and replace it with a white one

 i already got the right one tucked far away from the rest of the parts so i don't dye it by accident.

too me, it also looks like the right rear hub carrier might have to stay white, too. it's hard to tell. :?

man i wish i had better pics..............................
