cool way to protect graphite chassis

saw this pic on ebay ..thought it would be a cool way to protect that nice graphite chassis runner..looks like a metal chassis was just cut down..maybe i can make like a full chassis metal skid plate for a graphite chassis??? anyone try something like this??

for my touring chassis I made a full skidplate from really thin fiberglass then double back taped it on.
That chassis above has some nice mods done to it. It looks like it's part schumacher upper deck with "racing oriented" installation of the rear arms.

why not just make a molded lexan tray, ask MRLEXAN that would be the best option I think.Then you would have the option on painting it or leaving it clear to show the nice grafite chassis

that picture is off ebay so maybe it was a repair instead of a protective measure. I've seen that picture before but don't remember reading too much about it...

looks like the car had been converted to mid motor.did this to my graphite back in the day

looks like he used only the stock holes to hold the plate on. Most likely just a cheap repair (compared to purchasing a new graphite chasis). Not a bad idea though for scratch prevention.

i think that would add unwanted weight, so that means you would have to drill holes in that chassis to make up for it

looks damn ugly though, carbon is just so sexy to place some scatched alley over the top scares me
