Q&A about Edinger tubs

Frist one. I rebuilt my Edinger and used a NIP tub that I bought 15 to 20 years ago. And it has no marking on it. It dosn't have a A , B ,or C stamped in it. It a 6 gear only tub.
What is it.
the other Q is. This is the Tub off my Edinger car. Its been drilled fo a inline battery and a stalth trans. Is it wouth it to restore the tub? or just use it to build my RPM world car out of?
I could try to tig weld the holes. and stip it and redo it but thats a lot of work. Would the A tub make My old Edinger worth a lot more. No I'm not selling it.

i don't recall us ever figuring out anything about the no stamp tubs. by that i mean........ if they were included in the very first kits, were they only sold separately as a replacement part, etc. so more or less what i'm getting at is...... if the no stamp tubs were in the first rc10 kits, your car better have all of the correct super early parts on it. if not, your probably better off having an A stamp tub for it to be correct. being correct might help it bring more money. but some people might like the fact that it has no stamp on the chassis.
i can't remember the newer CA member's name (starts with a Y) that definately has an early kit, but i'd be tempted to see if his has an A stamp or not.

How good of a Pic do you want? I have thease pic but not too close up.
I tryed to get as close as i could fo what it was like when it was new. It's not 100o/o but i think its close. I have the right rims and tire on it now. And I know the T4 ESC not right. buts its close.
I don't realy matter. I just what to know if the tubs the right one. Or should I put the A tub up and restore the tub some other time. Or if it dons't matter ether way.
the only thing I can tell you about the tub is I got it from a LHS out of the bag A long long time ago. it was there he didn't want all that much for it so i grabed it for a spare. Restored my car in 07 and still had the tub and build the old car from that.

Yea I don't know. But there not a marking on the inside under the motor.
So are you saying that this might be older then a A stamped pan?

I don't know the color of the anodizing is kind of a rich gold and the early ones were more light gold. Just my .02.

i was kinda thinking the same thing. it might have just been a tub that missed getting stamped.

Well, for those that read the "Edinger" rant posted yesterday........here we go.
Sorry Twice, your car is not an Edinger (as long as I am correct assuming that you just switched the tub) your car looks like a very nice correct 1986 and up "Cadillac"
There are specific parts that date the cars to the Edinger address days, and yes there are early and late Edingers

Oh OK. I thiugh all A tubs were Edinger cars. Yea 1985 or 86 was the year I got it.
Is it more then just the shock towers?

Here's a pic of my Edinger tub, see how its more like metallic beige than a rich copper colour. Think of it like a Mark V Lincoln Continental colour!

they were all A tubs until the c.e. came out in 90.

there were alot of changes in the edinger kits. the drive gear pivot, rear spring cups, shock pistons, shock towers, battery hold downs, steering bellcranks, wing mounts, gear cover, and tires.
there's also early and late cadillac kits, too. i'll be able to confirm the differences in them if another member gets the car in the pics that he showed me yesterday. it should really only be 4. the shock gaskets, spring cups, and the tires.

Yea I see the color difference. Its even not as bright as my A tub.
The shock that are on my car are the old bottom feed kind that you rebuild from the outside with the snap rings.
I remember the spring cups. were you had to take the ball pivots off the shafts to remove the spring. I hated them things. they had no slot cut in them.
So is this A tub not worth messing with? I can just use it for something elce and not worry about messing up my {to me} priceles car?

personally, i would leave the no stamp tub on your car, and do what you want with the other one.
