Better still buy a repro one from Mr Lexan.

Yep. That's plan B obviously. But I'll mess with it a little anyways. It's part of the fun of restoration. Making the not so pretty pretty again..

wow, that looks like the original motor too!
I had one as a 12yr old, I really struggled keeping it running (esp the gearbox) last few years of its life it was a front wheel drive car w/ no brakes due to the one ways!
Good luck & post some pics when you're done.
Time to build it (RPS = Rescued by Protective Services)

Of all the in-progress restos I have, looks like this one may actually see the home stretch....Note that IMO Mr Lexan's body are clearly much higher quality (wo thin spots or wierd woops in the details) than the original body. Paint is in progress (whoo hooo!) Did manage to salvage the wheels with paint stripper followed by black RIT. And got a pretty "interesting" graphite chassis from a fellow across the pond.

Yeah Asso, Like sugar! But as far as the chassis, I'm still wondering about it. Are you sure it's a Delta? It's similar to one SCR8P had up a while back that he filled like 20 holes in), which I believed was a RPS item available seperately from the car. But the holes in mine for the front are off. The two that are there (I filled them in) are for a bit of a longer wheelbase than the stock alignment. I'm wondering if these chassis came aftermarket undrilled in the front to give the option of lengthening the wheelbase? Seems Dr. Robotnik's old posts on this board are mostly useless now, as the photos are all MIA.
I'll figure it out eventually. When I raced a little 2wd BID, I remember being annoyed by all the 834b's, because 4wd hadn't totally established itself as it's own class and they were let into the local 2wd races. That's why I have everything in ABCDE bags. I've never built one of these things and I need to actually use the instructions.

I'm 99% sure. I have one as well on my RPS doggy. And the one Scr8p filled in was Dr. Robotnik's Delta chassis.

Cool. Thanks for the 411. It is the same fine fiber, almost velveteen finish to it. Good to know.

this is the one i did for ed. he said it was an rps se chassis. i'm not up on the yoke stuff (especially the old ones) to know the difference, whether it's a delta or an rps.

This almost belongs in the positive feedback forum for Mr. Lexan. Thanks again Jay...Inspiration was a combination of the box, Jr's "Trinity Powered" championship car, and a tuxedo..

As the chassis comes together...these are all the prior parts (cleaned up) outside of the Proline Champions and the graphite chassis obviously.
Asso and Lex, thanks for the compliments. You still don't have me convinced it's a Delta chassis...it's an RPS item (edit - it's actually homemade, per the bloke I got it from, but a very good job I'd say). There's also an accompanying battery hold down (that I need to make) in the shape of a slanted T, and this chassis is drilled for it. I also need a front bumper, so the plan is to get my hands on some Kydex. I'm gonna do some fabricatin'.
