Well I never wanted to have anything other that a RC12i and I have a couple but somehow Gregg(Lowerydesigns) talked me into taking this RC12e and a 12L off his hands. The first picture is the way I got it and then I went a little berzerk and went looking for parts. By the time I finished for now I had found parts to make the 12e weightsaver version or as close as I could come. A lot of the parts are new but a few are good oriiginal and something on the car is from the original car I received. Can you tell what it is? I've got more to do so it's not officially finished as I usually like to fit out the electronics so I found some fp-s20 small servos and other parts to complete it but that will all come together in good time.

Rear axle the same?? I'm dyin' to to get a 12L and 10L. I raced a 10L for years and traded it for an original Midnight Pumpkin. No regrets

. I just can't bring myself to get one because there's no chance I could ever find a place to run it around here. I would love to run indoor carpet oval! I always ran the 10L because it was the big class when we had a track, but I loved the 12th scale cars. Anyway, I want one. A 12L that is. Nice car though, I wish I was fondling it right now...

I will leave space on my shelf!

Dang! Seriously though, a hollow rear axle?? How much weight does that save? 1/2 gram? I guess in 12th scale every nanogram counts.

One other thing. I love the fact that seemingly every on-road car Associated built had 32 pitch gears stock. Did people run 32 pitch gears in on-road cars at one point?

maybe there was a time when that's all there was. I dunno

Well that came from you temp, so technically speaking was not part of the car I started with. Ok I'm going spill the beans - wing tubes

I meant the bellcrank part, specifically the piece the tie rod wires attach to...that only has two holes instead of three or five. I figured that was the only part you couldn't just go find somewhere...

That piece came from aconsola and was in better condition than the one that came with the original chassis.

We'll all shed a tear when you rip into that WS radio tray with the jigsaw to install the FP-S20 throttle servo...

Well every 1/2 gram counts when you consider how much weight you have sitting on the shelf.

WS radio tray
Was this an optional tray and are they hard to find?
Also, would it be incorrect to run that tray with the standard 12e chassis?
Thanks, Brian

I would say that you can do it but the instructions that come with the radio tray give the part numbers that go along with the weightsaver premise and the chassis is a #3311 which is a lightened chassis. I can help you with a chassis if you are interested and I think I know where you can get the radio tray if its still there. I also have a fiberglass radio tray that is the same shape as the original white kydex.
