awhile back, my brother-in-law told me that he had a hilux and a a super blackfoot when he was younger. after technica started that thread about the heavy metal class at the nats, it got me thinking. so, i gave him a call to see where they were and if i could use one of them at the nats (if i make it there this year). he said .... sure, go for it, and told me the trucks were at my house. i've been storing stuff in my attic for him and my sister, and apparently, they've been up there for about 2 years.

i got them out of a trunk this morning. the super blackfoot has definatly seen better days. it's not horrible, but it will need some work. but the hilux is in real nice shape. it just needs to be torn down, cleaned up, and put back together.

Nice Lux. I have the same truck (King Cab). If I come to the nats.I will be running my Lux too.I guess we need to make sure it's ok to run them in the heavy metal class. It was marketed as a stadium truck not a monster. My body is in horrible condition compaired to yours. :( . You may want to find a runner body for that. The Lux body is a bit rare.

if they were gonna let an rc10 conversion in the heavy metal class, there's no reason this can't be in it. i think the stadium blitzer was more of a stadium truck than the kingcab/hilux ever was.

I agree. Not too sure I agree with the monster rc10 thing but I am new here and have absolutely no right to question a decision on that :) Still trying to see if the wife is cool with me going to the 09 nats. I have a nice Gold pan on the way "just in case". It will be nice to help represent the Pa.Posse :P

The King Cab body is blow molded (sort of like the Tamiya 959).This made them very detiled but thin .I don't know if the Lux is like this. If so scr8ps body is in a1 condition.
Every time I see a nice King Cab body on ebay it goes for big bucks :( .

I know my King Cab body is just as thin as my 959(and looks just as bad). Did they make a normal and blowmolded body? I will try and get a pic or two up tonight. There is a nib body on the bay right now for $189.00

Here is the profile from Tamiyaclub.

KingCab is Tamiya's first attempt at building a decent stadium racing truck; previous monster offerings were ungainly car-crusher type behemoths (Clod, Blackfoot, Lunchbox) which weren't too stable on their paws. KingCab's long wheelbase, balloon tyres and high ground clearance made this an excellent backyard basher and club ST racer. Given a hopup motor, this model has a decent turn of speed and handled well. (Description by Willy Chang) Extremely well detailed and fragile blowmolded lexan body.
Maybe that's not correct info? I don't know.

No, I wasn't implying that you were incorrect. It was more of a question than a statement. If it is, then I didn't know that.

I wonder if they made two different versions of the body?
The blow mold body had to be the worst idea ever.If they needed that much detail
they should have stuck with abs.
It's hard as heck trying to find a nice 959 or King cab body without paying
a small fortune for it.
It would be nice if someone could work out a re-pop body for this truck :D
