Hi, if you want to see the real body used on the box art, go there:

Don't remember how I found this one...I remember I was searching for Dirty Harry "deathpool" RC10 pics when I found this "boxart" pdf.
Make a copy of this Pdf while you still can, I don't find it anymore on the new AE website.

If I painted this, I would do a custom mix of yellow and orange, and I would base the paint in fluorescent pigments to start with to get a bright "mango" color. The ones selling for over $100 on eBay are straight solid orange with little or no creativity in color matching.

This box art RC10 rash is getting crazy. I bet there were more box art RC10's painted in 06-07 than there have been since the RC10 was released. Probably 10 times more than from 84 thru 05. What, are we Tamiya collectors now or do we still like REAL buggies?

I'm just joking around, but I'm kinda serious too.

I'm not one for box art even on my Tamiya's My plan for one RC-10 body is similar to how I painted my rough rider

Personally, I like the box art thing, most of mine are. Not exactly sure what the pyschy behind it means. I agree with Doug, as I am stickler for the details, I have to laugh at some of the attempts at box art replicas. That PDF sure answers a lot of questions. There was a gent in Florida, named Vaughn Peters whom I meet on Tamiya club (there is that word again) that did the best box art replica I have seen. The chassis was even matching the box. He sold it on ebay a year or so ago. Anyone here pick that one up?

BTW, I will have the box art numbers in my hands in about three days.... the ones from my other post.

Now that's what I'm talking about. That thing is beautiful.

The consistent theme thing is cool as well......... I have told you that in the past. Make sure you take some group photos, of the SS, RR, RC10 and post them here. I would like to see them.
