original frog

i decided to pull out the old frog, clean it up and make it drivable again. I've already fab'd some rear shock mounts (copied the crp hop up part) and working on the front shock mounts (again, copying the crp parts).

This car will never be a shelf queen, rather a back yard basher. I'll be running the old fashioned mechanical speed controller (very retro, and i'm completely broke) and a stock motor.

QUESTION - what gearing should i be using?

I "think" - unless you happen to have the crp motor mount plate (that allows you a few more pinion choices) - that your options are few with the old frogs.
Gear it so it meshes, and the motor doesn't cook the brushes.

I remember a few of the hopping and bobbing around the track still when the RC-10s first hit the track ..... and took over. Have fun.

19T pinion with a 49T spur gear(high speeds but less battery time) or 18T/50T for average performance.

i run the high speed gearing in mine with esc, 1900 nicad, stock motor, and full bearings. this works good for me but i run in low cut grass and open area .
