yes sir it was lol. i think the reason it went so cheep was because it didnt say associated or rc10 anywhere in the listing.
now if you think that was a steal you should see the decals, catalogs, manuals, and ads that were included. the stack of papers is about 2 inches. and every bit of it is in mint condition. plans are to scan in ever bit of it in and put it online.
the rc10 looks to have been a back yard bashed and dont look as if it was ever raced. i was truly shocked at the condition.
the bolink is a bl1361 outlaw sprint car. about the only signs of this car having ever been run was the dirty spur gear. the painted lettering on the sidewalls of the foam tires is still fully intact with no signs of scuffing. i bought the lot for the rc10. i planned to just use the bolink as a parking lot "toy" until i seen the condition. i will be cleaning this one up and getting a body for it and putting it up on the shelf. i plan to post pics of before and after when i get it done.

lol. well while it was in pieces i traced the shock towers out on a old losi graphite chassis that had a broken nose on it. i will be making 2 rears, 1 front, one trans brace, and one battery tie down out of it. so it will have black towers on it after i get a chance to cut them out.
i dyed the shock towers once before back in the day and it didn't come out looking very well at all. the cut edges were about the only thing that picked up the dye. so i didn't bother doing these. the ball cups will be replaced with white rpm's that will be dyed pink also. that's why those wern't done.
future plans : pick up another chassis, motor mount, and rc10t nose and ship em off to have them powder coated florescent orange.

ya i would have fought ya for it to an extent man. i had a proxy bid on it which was about twice the about that i got it for. i couldnt have gone over that though since i have to keep enough in the account to cover the back ordered m11 i ordered.
being disabled i have time to sit and monitor whats getting ready to end on ebay. but in turn i never seen to have the money when deals like this pass by lol.

Looks great. I like mine all black and I agree, those fiberglass towers just kinda turn grey or a lighter shade of whatever color you're going for.

That brings back
memories.
Back in the day, almost every time I went to the track, some new guy would show up throw down his car and battle it around for a battery pack .... get done .... go over to the pits .... finally get the nerve up to ask someone.... and one look at the car and SOMETHING would be put on upside down, backwards, catewompus, or something.........
...... or better yet, they'd have the car half assembled and walk up and go
"you're one of the experts right? How much you want to put this damn thing the rest of the way together."

Oh, I loved it in highschool. I worked at the lhs and made more money building kits for people on the side than I did from the shop. $35-45 depending on the kit. Plus I got to build all the kits I couldn't afford.

well thanks for the replies everyone.
ya i use to see the upside down arms every once in a while back in the day. its a great way to figure out who you most likely wont have to worry about beating you on the track. (and a sign on who to try to avoid on the track lol).
well i picked up a rc10t chassis from ebay last night. it has the truck parts i will need when i do the wide arm conversion on the car. it also has the mip steering set up, pure tech purple velcro battery strap, stealth trans for a spare, and a motor as a spare. i will be sending the nose plate, main chassis, and motor plate out to be powder coated florescent orange. i doubt that there will be any problems spotting the car on the track when its finished. any if the person that tried to snipe the rc10t chassis from my with 7 seconds to go i have this to say. "Neaner neaner neaner

" but it would have been nice if they didnt bid. i could have got it for $15 but now i ended up paying $40.. ohh well the mip steering is something i can check off the list of wants for the car lol.
ok back in the day i had the hot pink powder coated pan. when i bought it the hobby shop also had hot pink self adhesive velcro that i had also bought. i never realized how hard that stuff is to find. but i was able to find a place that did in fact carry colored peel and stick velcro. but no hot pink. they did have orange and a bunch of other colors though. only thing is i have to by it in 25 foot rolls and thats just single sided. so i will have to buy 2 rolls. ohh well i guess i wont run out for a long time lol.
now i just need to look for a supplier for pink or orange carbon kevlar in 1/8" (3mm) or even 4mm plates.
too badno body makes orange or pink colored tires i could use.

ya i had been sitting here watching it since the day it was listed lol. i'm just glad they didn't bid any higher. 4 more cents and it would be on the way to me.
well i have found pink and orange g10 so it looks like i may just end up with colored shock towers after all.
as for the shock towers and trans brace i said i was going to cut from the broken graphite losi chassis. the pieces are now cut and trimmed. the only thing left is to drill them and lighten them up if i decide to do so. but seeing that i am wanting this car to be a bit heaver so that it will stay planted better i may just leave them be. i will post pics at a later time after i get a bit farther with them.
