Hello all,
Is there a source for an RC10B3 buggy replacement chassis? I have heard that the "Thunder Tiger Phoenix BX 2" is the same as a B3. Is this true?
Thanks again for the help!
Dan

Yes it is true.
This is the US distributor for Thunder Tiger:
ACE HOBBY DISTRIBUTORS, INC.
Tel: 949-900-3308
Give them a call and see if they can get the chassis. Also ask about wheels for me

I downloaded the manuals from Thunder Tiger AT-10 Phoenix BX and found part numbers for chassis and wheels:
Front rims - PD8979
Rear rims - PD8982
Chassis - PD8962
I'll call tomorrow. Thanks,
-Dan

I was at kippshobbies.com the other day (it is my local shop) and they had just gotten in a shipment of the b3 thundertiger wheels. give kipp a call/email and he can probably hook you up with special order parts in addition to the wheels.

My lhs has a B3 chassis nip sitting in a box of chassis I got another member here a couple of T3 chassis's and I picked up a T2 and a 6301 black team chassis myself (no more of those), I think I pm'd him but he wasn't interested. Anybody else interested I'll check them out, heck I think there are a couple of Losi chassis but nothing real old.

Call Sheldons hobbies in San Jose. Not the greatest service, but if you call with part #'s I am pretty sure they can help with just about any B3 part. If not let me know , and I can look for you. -Jeff

Thanks for the tip. "Any B3 part"...that sounds promising. Do you mean AE parts or Thunder Tiger?
I am putting together a list this week. It's not too long.

I mean Associated parts. They used to be a huge distributor, and had a big warehouse of parts. The owner retired, and sold the store and warehouse to someone with little RC knowledge, and no desire to keep it as a distributorship. So you now have a hobby shop with vast amounts of old parts. (specially HPI for some reason

). Lots of old Losi, and Associated parts as well. Last time I was in, I saw (if memory serves) 3-4 different syles of B2/B3 chassis. Carbon, plastic, long and short. -Jeff

Sheldons has an eBay store too with a few good things for sale. I used to go to sheldons when I was kid and just drool on the cases.

Now I live in Texas and miss the hell out of sheldons.the guys at hobbytown are cool and I have made a couple of good scores. I just miss the place

forgive my ignorance but i just learned about the phoenix's existence today. If it and the b3 are in fact identical, why hasn't there been a lawsuit from Associated?
I'm not against Thunder Tiger producing that kit. It's actually quite helpful if its parts do in fact match the associated b3, not to mention that i love the b3's design, thus it pleases me to see a "twin" of it available now that the original b3 has been discontinued.
I'm just confused how Thunder Tiger pulled it off without legal troubles.
Does anybody know or have a theory?
