Can someone please explain to me how I can post some pictures of my latest build. I'm not a computer guy. I have the pictures currently saved on my desktop. I do not know what to do next. Thanks

go to photobucket.com

ether register or log in

upload pics there

after pics are uploaded mouse over the images.. there will be 4 lines of code to choose from.

click on the "IMG code" should be the last one

it will say copied

come over here and paste that code in the box you write your post in.

click submit

and your all done :)

Why not just use the direct upload feature? Below the reply box where you write your post there is an area that says "upload attachment". Use that area to attach any number of picture you like. The best size is between 600 and 700 pixels wide.

The only word of caution to point out is that if you have a series of pics that need to be in a particular order, you start with the last image in the series and work your way backwards. When you post, the images will be placed correctly. If that was confusing just remember that the last picture you add will show up first in the post.

the reasons i dont use it are these.

1 saves rc10talk bandwidth.

2 with photobucket you can upload once and post on multiple sites if you want.

3 photobucket's bulk uploader.

4 nothing i have yet posted has seemed truly worthy of becoming an attachment.

Certainly, both ways have merits. You have to be careful with some online hosts, they don't share well with others. I see lots of Photobucket frogs around the net because they won't share with some sites. It could be that it's a link to a link, I don't know.

Pictures taken directly off of most digital cameras will be entirely too large to work with the uploader which has a 256k/image file size limit. They need to be resized. There are some very easy ways to do this. I find that for most images resizing to 1000 pixel width seems to get it in under the 256k file size.

Before I resize I like to crop out any extraneous stuff, so the desired object takes up the full frame. Once you figure out how to do this, it becomes very easy to post. accomplishing the resize/crop depends on what software you have on your computer, but most come with some kind of photo editing software. I got lucky and had photoshop elements preloaded, but there are many other programs that will work, and you probably already have one.
