Does anybody out there know where to source LWB belts for the Optima mid? I do not have BST status yet, and have even tried the original manufacturer MBL. 254XL014 are the markings on the belt. Any help would be great!!!

I have 2 or 3 I think; is the stinger MK2 using the same belt?
The third one is an aftermarket by another manufacturer; I will check the text on that belt for you.

I'm planning to use these belts and would rather not sell them, but hopefully I can help you find the belt standard and we find a supplier.

Can you help me also: on your LWB chassis; what is the distance from the screw holes in the rear of the chassis to the screwholes for the bumper? I want to make my own LWB chassis= without cell cut-outs but have no dimensions to start from.

The stinger, optima and optima mid use the same length belt. The stinger belt is made of a different material (clear yellowish brown) ands you can see the metal strands. This was probably a more fuel resistant belt.

As for the optima mid, the wheelbase was approximately half an inch shorter than the standard optima. The longer belt brought the wheelbase to 11 inches. I don't know of any other car that uses this belt.

As for the screw holes for the LWB, I'll check my lwb tonight and give you all of measurements.

Hi roger, my stinger MKII had a black colour belt and the wheel base is about 20mm longer than an optima mid's; ending up somewhere over 270mm
(I know the belt takes a shorter route standard, but when I converted mine to electric it was very similar to the otpima-mid route and I was still able to maintain the long wheelbase)
I guess the longer wheelbase keeps the look of the stinger in proportion; would be pretty uggly with a swb and the huge body

The markings on the belts themselves are the length, pitch, and width. The belt for the Optima conversion, and the stock Optima Mid are the same and should have 240XLF014 in white lettering. Kyosho's Optima mid custom special
stretch kit has 254XLF014 marked on them. I have a Stinger MK2 belt in my hand with 254XL016 markings, and this belt is A .5mm wider but might work. Some aftermarket belts just show the length and pitch: ex.. 240XL.

The correct Kyosho part number is OTW-07, and SG-24 for the Stinger MK2!

well , if the teethcount is the same, and the diffs are the same (which I'm sure of) it should be a perfect match for your goal

I guess the big question is now, can he rob the stinger of its belt or does the search continue.
Even if it continues, it should be a little easier with a second option and the somewhat lower popularity of stingers over the lwb optimas (or is that just my distorted perception?)

The width is one of my concerns, the standard mid belt varies from 3mm to 3.5mm in width. While the Stinger belt is 4mm, and might be to wide to run freely. And of course the other concern is where to get more?
