Re: And then cancer came along....

Hi guys. I'm still around but not in the capacity that I was once well known for. My wife was treated with some success but things will never be the same again. She survived the cancer but our marriage didn't. Moving states and in with her parents brought with it other issues and this in itself was ...

Re: HELP!! DO AM RADIOS NOT WORK ANYMORE????

Funily enough Ive recently discovered some 'issues' with my AM radio gear. The transmitters to be exact. I wanted to set my sons Hotshot up with a twin stick radio so I went with an old radio. I found that it would not allow me to tune the current batch of Tamiya ESC units and could not work out why...

Re: Kyosho Optima for NVC

Great ideas. I also run my front dampers a little more like the Optima Mid also. The lay down style doesn't offer great suspension action on my opinion.

Re: Kyosho Optima for NVC

Don't forget droop. My Optima uses the same tower and shocks. This allows more rear travel and has worked well for me.

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

I thought the Stinger belt was 254xl. The LHS I purchased my kit from sold me the alloy pulleys in the kit I got. Perhaps they swapped the belt out and told me it was for my Optima. Or was there an Optima conversion kit that had those alloy pulleys? I certainly never got that little lexan cover wit...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

If Kyosho were to rere the Optima I can only imagine that the belt conversion could replace the chain system or at the very least be one of the first upgrades for this car.
From memory I upgraded my original racer with the Stinger belt conversion set.

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

Please oh please Mr Kyosho, I'd very much LURVE for the Optima to be rereleased also. The Optima would outsell any of their other cars easily!

Re: Sending positive thoughts to The Husting Family...

Terrible news, that which I am very sorry to hear. A great legacy that will keep Gene in our hearts and minds for a very long time to come.
Sending my condolences all the way from Australia.
RIP good sir. May the Lord watch over you.

Re: Kyosho Optima for NVC

It's funny cause I've had to change the caster blocks to the later increased caster ones to keep this car from over steering. I find that with the motor in the rear the weight tends to over pendulum and make the car soon out in the dusty corners.

Re: Kyosho Optima for NVC

That's the spirit Lars. I have driven my Optima on the same 2.0" tyres which I used back in the 80's, the OT-66's and found the car a little slippery on dusty tracks but definitely capable of making some nice laps. The car didn't feel like it had any under steer in these conditions with these t...

Re: Stinger Mk1 and Mk2 differences??

Thanks gomachv.

I really like the look of the original Stinger so I will have to keep my eyes open for one or convert a Mk2.

This will be fun.
