Well another pair of unthreaded rear shocks turned up, so by some stroke of fortune I now have two complete sets of these

Re: Anyone repair ESC's, or know of someone who does?
I use a guy in the UK called Ian Mullaney. He is on Fb if you want to look him up. He has told me I am ok to pass on his details. He has rebuilt multiple esc’s for me including Demon, Novak, Tekin, Laser, CS, Marfet and Victor Engineering.
He’s the man.

Re: OPTIMA MID '87 WC Worlds Spec Ltd Ed.
This replica is basically just a glorified re-re. The parts which differentiate the prototype cars from Romsey ‘87 and the later production version have not been replicated. Therefore, it isn’t what I would call a replica at all. Rear wing set up, rear hinge pin support, gearbox lube hole etc…. if I...

Re: OPTIMA MID '87 WC Worlds Spec Ltd Ed.
Worlds prototype replica* (*Minus all of the unique prototype parts) Saying the quiet part out loud  I would like to see manufacturers include some of the racer hacks as optional. Static model car kits used to come with parts to build the car as it left the show room, but also custom wheels an...

Re: TOMY Intruder - now complete
Tomy went all in with the Intruder in 1990, and came up with a car which was equal to anything else on the market at that time. I can speak from personal experience having seen Matt Hodgson run his Intruder throughout the 1991 season in the UK. It was quick. Now i have my car i can see why - it was ...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
OK - I got my hands on this unique body during the transaction which brought me the Rory Cull Hotshot. There were two Hotshot shells in Rory's well known yellow and orange racing colours (one was a TMS, the other a standard original Hotshot shell) but this third body was also included. I was told it...

Re: Pre-Platinum Checkpoint 20Double
So this bad boy got sent off to motor guru Glyn Ward for a full strip and rebuild. He skimmed the comm for starters and checked the magnets. The magnets were spot on, and he told me he expected this to be the case as they are early sintered ferrite and obviously not the later wet magnet version. The...

Got a few motors that I've never seen before! I've heard of Light Speed but never seen these cans or end bells before. Interesting to see an aluminum end bell with a hold drilled in it? Anyone know much about them? These look very Checkpoint-ish to me. Certainly the aluminium endbells with the hole...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - July 2023 ** - Winner - dinglem
There's a lot of entries I'd like to vote for this month. I know the AYK has really nice bodywork, but I really think not showing the underbits is not doing it justice. Sure there's a link, but I would like to have had that view of it here. Hopefully it has an AYK motor under there. 😉 I did deliber...

Original 'Race Prep' AYK Radiant Mid conversion – one of the rarest cars in my collection I would think. They produced less than 50 of these 'Race Prep' conversions (according to Steve Dunn) before AYK approached them about making it an official kit, thus bringing about the Pro Radiant. The '87 Roms...
