Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Dollar store CA, that could get intetesting  I hear it's the same kind, just $1..haha. Honestly, I've been using it for years but will put it to the test now. Regarding the 4mm to 5mm bullets, all my batteries that are 5mm come with adapters like this: https://www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc- ....

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Gluing tires! (With my only jconcepts bling I can claim at the moment.... ) I used dollar store CA glue that I had left over from my saltwater reef tank days as I used them for gluing corals inside the tank....Since these tires are going to be used for "getting to know the car" at th...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Well..I decided to go rogue a bit last night in terms of soldering equipment purchases.. :D I chose to go Amazon because a lot of the miscellaneous stuff were just cheaper there and I was able to find a soldering iron w/ good reviews and same (or better) specs than the other one I linked and at a be...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Thanks all.
I'll stick w/ 60/40 rosin core. Anyone have any links to Amazon for the solder? Hate to have to buy those from a hobby shop and pay the hobby shop premium..

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
Spotted this alien craft hovering above the water last week: IMG_6819.jpg Interested..what is it? Looks like some type of soft coral or invert? It looks like you're taking this of an aquarium...I could be totally wrong of course! Nice picture either way. Ha! Foiled! During my winter holiday l...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
that iron looks pretty nice and it's a good price for an adjustable iron that will suit all of your needs. you should use lead solder if possible, and yes, rosin core. 60/40 63/37 whatever is fine. lead flows much nicer than lead free. you shouldn't need flux unless you really want to use it. the r...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Well...This soldering issue is all coming to a head now. I am just about to that point for the car and one of the battery connector wires came off of the board from my heli last night! Ahhh, no!!! :!: As much as I am apprehensive, I am expediting my research and purchase of soldering equipment. I'm ...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Alot of people remove them and connect the wires permanently. Or you could servo tape it to the side of the tub. You're right, there is not really a convenient spot for it http://www.redrc.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/rc10worldscf3.jpg Looks great. I see what you did. So you moved the battery com...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Nice progress. I stared at the shock O-rings for quite a while and still got it wrong, luckily I caught my mix-up before the oil went in. I built mine with the included spacers, and my travel matches Kinwald's setup within 0.5mm, and the bones should stay put, so I'll let it be for now. I picked up...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Ok. Thank you. Your answer reminded me that I installed the pinion to my HS w/o the L shaped tool that came with it and prior to me picking up some hex wrenches. It all makes sense now! Here's the latest: http://i.imgur.com/8fFkay5.jpg 2 questions: 1. How best to orient the ESC? The way it's in the ...

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Thanks all! I'll have to study up on the use of the different piston spaces then..
The O-rings that you've substituted, are they the red ones?
Also, yay or nay w/ threadlock for the pinion? I put it on my Tamiya HS recently after it slipped and on advice of others. Thoughts for this?
Thanks!

Re: My RC10 World's Re-Re Pre-Build Q's
Boy I swear my build is borderline comical. Continuing on the shocks, I mistakenly thought 3959 shock collar o ring was 6469 shock cap o ring...Once I found out, I had to switch everything. What an oily mess! :x Got it done though. Why does the kit has so many 6465 shock pistons when you only need 4...
