Re: The year was 1992 in Utah
Thanks for the welcome. So far I have updated with a new 2s lipo (using a low voltage alarm) and some new "old" one piece wheels and fresh proline trencher tires. The old truck really came alive with lipo power. My reedy es modified brushed motor still has some power. I have been spending ...

Help identifying old pinion grub screw size
I have some old 48p pinion gears of unknown brand that take the smallest allen wrench I own. I measured the following with digital calipers: 0.0495" allen wrench size at the flats (1.26mm) Grub screw diameter: 0.110" (2.8mm) Grub screw length 3.12mm I can't figure out what sae or metric si...

Re: Why are the old RC10T 3 piece wheels so rare?
I have my new one piece wheels that fit great but have an interesting issue. My 11/32nds socket won't tighten the rear wheel nuts (asc6296) quite tight enough on account of the angle of the "cone" shape of the wheel and the small width of the nut. The old 3 piece rear wheels have more cle...

Has short course taken over and replaced stadium trucks in popularity?

Re: Help me make my RC10T great again
Cool truck. That looks just like mine that I pulled out of storage about 5 years ago. I ended up selling the M5 ESC on ebay and did pretty well. I picked up a Castle brushless system, which is total overkill. I've since upgraded to 2.4Ghz and recently I added a new servo. The output from the Castle...

How are modern racing "classes" differentiated?
In the old days of 1990's brushed motors in off road racing we had stock and modified class, further differentiated by buggy's and trucks and 2wd/4wd for buggies. Stock brushed motors had bushings, and a certain amount of "turns" or RPM ratings that made them considered stock. Modified had...

Re: Why are the old RC10T 3 piece wheels so rare?
I assume with old brushed motors, even modified ones, that ballooning/expansion is not a concern with modern tires, is that correct?

Re: Batteries and Chargers
I just bought a venom 2s 4000mah lipo pack that fits the old Tamiya molded chassis battery compartments and it fits the RC10T rear tray perfectly.

Re: Why are the old RC10T 3 piece wheels so rare?
I've given up on the three piece wheels since they don't fit a modern tire. They're also super heavy compared to the solid wheels. They still make the 1/4" solid wheels and I found some for $7.99 a set and glued on modern turf tires. The vintage tires didn't work at all on the turf. Speaking o...

Are these 1 piece replacements correct for the 1/4inch old style roll pin axles on the 10T?

Why are the old RC10T 3 piece wheels so rare?
It seems like the old 3 piece RC10T wheels were pretty solid, and the feature of not having to glue them would be desirable, why are they so rare now? Seems like ebay searching only turns up a few sets that are pretty expensive. Oddly, front 3 piece wheels are easy to find. Why did associated move a...

Re: Help me make my RC10T great again
A 2S Lipo is 7.4v and the 410 M5 is designed for 4-10 cells which would be 4.8v-12v. So yeah you could potentially run it on 2S which would be plenty for what you want to do. Your run times would be back up give or take depending on what motor you are using and your gearing. The low voltage alarm i...
