Re: Awesome Back to the Future rc car

I'm sure if he spent some time tuning the PID settings on his flight controller it would fly better. The shrouding of the props (compared to most other multicopters) wouldn't help though.

Re: FPV

I've just got most of my FPV gear (Fatshark goggles are awesome) to go into a quadcopter. I'm making it so it is easily moved around so I can put it in my glider and also want to try incar view from my Lunchbox. Here's a couple of cool FPV vids... Re: GoldPan buggy with new electronics ?

I wouldn't worry about the C rating too much. I think a lot of it is simply overinflated to pull in more customers. If you think about it a battery with a 20C rating should be able to be discharged in 1/20 of an hour, which is 3 minutes. Realistically you never want to discharge past 80 percent of a...

Re: Helicopters For Christmas

I love collective pitch helis. So much more skill involved compared to RC cars. I've got 3 450's and a 250 so far. Getting a couple of flybarless conversions for xmas.

Would love to be able to fly like these guys one day:

Re: What is the worst vintage rc ever made?

I hated, if that can be said, Schumacher cars from that era. Nowadays I would really really like to own one, struggle building it from the box, feel front crashback thing (if the rubberbands were not dried) or turn front wheels to a angle where not other 4wd (or even not most 2wd cars) could be tur...

Re: Is this true (about connectors)?

..... but no worries of shorts and arcs like deans I've seen genuine Deans plugs used in a plane (large GeeBee) running a 6s HV system pulling 3Kw. You should hear the massive "CRACK" sound when the plugs are first connected! The initial inrush current charging the esc's caps must be huge...

Re: Reviving old cells

Hey Junkman I understand exactly what you are saying, with lipos being way better and all.

The problem is that I wanted to run saddle packs under a Cat XLS body, which isn't exactly roomy.

Re: anyone into planes?

I have a couple of different radios for my planes. A Flysky/Turnigy/iMax 9x 2.4Ghz radio is the one I'm using the most lately for my smaller planes and helis. They are very cheap for what you get and are quite powerful in their programming functions. Compared to buying a Specktrum DX6i with a single...

Re: Reviving old cells

Yea, I'm certainly not expecting miracles. There are 10 packs all from the same original batch of cells. I can automatically cycle the packs on the chargers which is what I have been doing, so they just tick away in the background. I figure at the very least the cells are getting a gentle exercise a...

Reviving old cells

Hey guys, Has anyone got any ideas on reviving old Intellect 3600mah Nimh battery packs? I've got some I'd like to revive/rematch for a project. I've tryed cycling a few at 5amp charge, 3.6amp discharge (highest my chargers will do), and have gotten one from about 60mah upto 1700mah after 5 cycles. ...

Re: Anyone have a FlySky radio?

I have one of the cheaper 2 channel radios on my 9T Brushless/Lipo powered Hornet runner. It works fine for a basic radio. Looks tacky, but feels fine in the hand. Most annoying thing about it is the super bright LEDs. I think I'll get a few more 2 channel ones for the kids, and buy myself the 3chan...

Re: anyone into planes?

DerbyDan, how big of a flying space do you have? The AXN Foater Jet from Hobbyking is extremely popular out at my club with new and experienced pilots alike. Quite often you'll get several up flying in formation doing group touch and goes. They fly quite well on stock electronics included with the p...
