Re: Restoring Black Plastic Parts

I think the MP6 has nylon (glass filled) parts? Is there any way to tell if they are plastic or nylon? I imagine plastic will not bend - so suspension parts will probably be nylon. Anything else - I think my wife will kill me if I get black dye everywhere - especially if I have to boil it on the sto...

Restoring Black Plastic Parts

Was working on a MP6 restoration - and some of the black plastic parts are faded etc. What is the easiest way to restore them? I have seen some posts for paint, dyes, silicon, petroleum jelly etc. I am hoping for easy - but would like it to last! Thanks for all your help! Brian

Re: Electric conversion Kyosho MP5

Thanks. I did realize there were some conversion kits available but the ones I saw didn't look that good. Can you give me some links/suppliers and I may try to convert one of my MP6's. It does seem a shame to not try a conversion. I don't really want to try anything radical - as I dont think I have ...

Re: Electric conversion Kyosho MP5

Hi I finally gave up unfortunately. I am selling off (or swap for MP7.5) my MP5 & MP6 rollers I have. Bought 2 used MP777 rollers and bought an electric conversion kit as well. As you know, parts are much easier to find for a MP7.5 conversion. I do have a couple of Inferno DX & 4WD I was thi...

I think someone did a Burns conversion as well. Used a MP7.5 conversion kit as well?

Re: Electric conversion Kyosho MP5

I never did find a conversion. I bought a 7.5 conversion - which I think will fit with some mods. Havent progressed much further than that - but will keep you up to date as I get started,

Wanted - Kyosho Corvette ZR-1 manual

Would anyone happen to have a copy of the Kyosho Corvette ZR-1 manual (based on the Kyosho Rampage)? I am trying to restore the car and I think I need a few parts for the body pins which are quick release? Also I think I may be missing a part or two that is unique to the Corvette and not a part of t...

Re: Electric conversion Kyosho MP5

I did find a conversion for the MP7.5 - but I think there was a major upgrade from the 6 to the 7.5. Got a question in to the supplier if it can be modified - but does anyone know how similar they are? Thanks

Re: Electric conversion Kyosho MP5

Thanks for the suggestion. I got the idea from Lexster76, but he had not done it on the MP5/MP6. As well he used a Kershaw mount which is no longer available as Kershaw is out out of business (?). Was hoping someone had done one recently. Trying to find a mount that will fit the buggy with minor mods.

Re: Restoring Old Fuel Tanks

My biggest problem is getting the brush into the places. Would the ethanol, methanol, isopropyl dissolve the greeen gunk or would I have to get a brush in there?

Restoring Old Fuel Tanks

I've got a bunch of old Kyosho Burns and Inferno tanks that I would like to clean up/restore. The all have the green gunk in them. I could clean some of it all but not all. Does anyone have an easy solution to clean these old tanks up? I notice there are alot of restored Kyosho buggy topics - so I i...

Re: Repainting old bodies

Well, I think I will try the nitro. If it doesn't work I will try painting the outside. The bodies are in rough shape - so I cannot do any worse!!!!!

If the nitro doesn't work - any suggestions for paint? Should I scuff up the body first?

Thanks Brian
