Re: TC3 vs. newer TC5/6/7 or others

Well that's a bummer to find out. Still, I'd take Taiwan made any day over mainland China. Most of the high end gaming computer motherboards are sourced from Taiwan.

Re: Futaba FM/PCM 27 MHz and 75 MHz

There are many more 75MHz frequencies available than 27MHz, which I think there are only six frequencies in the USA. Regarding your TX module switching from 27 to 75MHz, I'm not sure that's possible. But I'd like to know too because I have a PCM1024 FM Futaba that has the module. But I was always un...

Re: TC3. Too much power?

I stumbled across a brand new set of 3908 outdrives (both front and rear) for a very reasonable price so snagged them! That should buy me some time in the wear department. I'll take a close look at how the CV axle pins are wearing when I rebuild the differentials next time. If they are in good shape...

Re: TC3 composite oudrive wear. Alternatives?

Cruising around eBay, I happened to find a brand new set (both front and rear) of factory 3908 outdrives for a very reasonable price. Bought them in a heartbeat! So that will definitely buy me some time and I'll install these the next time I have the car opened up for maintenance or repair. Associat...

TC3 composite oudrive wear. Alternatives?

I've been searching the threads here for some alternatives to TC3 outdrives. I actually have the Factory Team TC3, which came with the composite outdrives, part 3908. I guess the RTR and standard kits came with the steel outdrives , part 3912. But the slots on my composite outdrives are getting oval...

Re: Trinity EV10 Ad/Box Art Replica

I was drooling all over these ads when they were out. This car was just the coolest! I finally saved up and got the real deal and really enjoyed putting it together. At the time, it was by far, the fastest car I had ever driven. In fact, it was the first car I ever had where you MUST put a body on i...

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner

I have a small one that a friend gave me. It's all stainless steel with a variety of baskets and trays. I have never cleaned anything directly in it however. I always put my parts in a ziploc bag, toss in a little Purple Power degreaser and the rest water. Then the bag goes in the ultrasonic cleaner...

Re: Forum News & Discussion

How about instead of displaying multiple trophies, just one trophy and then adding a gold wreath or colored stars for multiple wins? Or just a trophy and a number?

Re: Derustification the Frankentruck way

Hah! Too funny. My son was just telling me what "bussin" meant the other day. I wonder if we get a group of 40+ year olds together if the Gen Z crowd couldn't understand us? Probably wouldn't happen, since we raised Gen Z and they already know our lingo!

Re: TC3 vs. newer TC5/6/7 or others

I remember Tekin from back in the day but have never used their products before. So I went to their website and was surprised to find they had gone out of business years ago, only to be bought and resurrected by an American family who now run it as a family business. And they are still in the USA an...

Re: TC3 vs. newer TC5/6/7 or others

Thanks for the suggestion. I know next to nothing about the original APEX series. Were they better in any way than the APEX 2's? Better built? Less plastic? More tunable? I do like that Associated is an American company, and as far as I know, their products are made In USA. Always a good thing. @Elk...

TC3. Too much power?

So I have been having a lot of fun with my ol' TC3 lately. So much so that I bought a second one for my son to run with me. My car currently has a Novak SS5800 brushless set up, and I'm running a new 6 cell 3300mAh Dynamite NiMh battery. I've got it geared about the maximum recommended load for the ...

TC3 vs. newer TC5/6/7 or others

Greetings all! I've been having fun lately with my recently resurrected Factory Team TC3 that I've had since it was new in '92 or so? I think the TC3 is a great car. Very adjustable, light, works great, etc, etc. Enjoyed it so much that I bought a second TC3 for my son to drive with me. It's his fir...
