Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
Done with the peroxide, it did help a bit.
Worst side first.
Still some sun damage on the gear cases and front arms.
Now I can get back to rebuilding the 6-gear, and finish this.

The diff balls on the outside are much better, thanks @XLR8!
Should be easier to complete this from here on out.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
I've lost track of the total number of balls you have but I think you'll want to fully populate the outer set of holes and ignore the inner ones. Having the balls in the outer holes will transfer power more effectively than having them in the inner ones. I'll give it a try immediately, thanks! I gu...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
My memory is failing but aren't the inner holes for screwing the gear to a slipper clutch? I think if you've fully populated the outer set of holes, you should be good. For reference, an early AE spur only holds 8 balls so installing more is just a bonus. There's only (6) inner holes, and (12) oute...

Built the 6-gear for TDP car, and the 40th.
Using the asc6693 spur, I have two leftover diff balls from the inner ring. The outer ring I wouldn't have enough of these.
Was I supposed to buy more diff balls to use this 48p?

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear
I was thinking I would leave all the parts in until they matched, wasn't sure how this is supposed to go. The sun is down back there, I pulled the parts in for the night. Looks like not much has changed so far. https://i.imgur.com/mANJ0E4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/oiVpKxP.jpg I'll leave these in perox...

Got the arms apart, and the hardware cleaned. https://i.imgur.com/exqqg0o.jpg Been in the sun for about two hours, and was in the peroxide out of the sun for two hours, four hours total so far. https://i.imgur.com/9tdJ82B.jpg Still see stains on the gear case and shock parts. Only have about 2 hours...

The paint looks to have settled, or become a bit smoother today, now that it's dry. https://i.imgur.com/WiqKwzF.jpg The weather is nearly ideal right now to paint the blue layer, but I need to make sure to let the white dry properly. Really happy with what I have so far now, but I know the masking a...

Was able to severely bend that Alclad chrome backed PS-5 scrap, without any separation or damage to the paint. https://i.imgur.com/lBLUsYm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/C6gH2Ix.jpg Going to leave the other body with the X-11 on it, and start over on this new body using exclusively Alclad. That's what the movie car has, hobby grade foil on car #1: https://i.imgur.com/PO5L0w2.jpg Foil is delicate though, and after a while, might look more like old tin foil: https://i.imgur.com/QWEbp6o.jpg Want to make this a shelf body that will last, and that can go in the sink for a quick dust off. :D

Got some Alclad II Chrome for Lexan to try on this project. https://i.imgur.com/fwYWWJ6.jpg Tamiya X-11 brush paint is what is currently on the body. https://i.imgur.com/HgqxlXN.jpg The back of the Alclad Chrome can says: 4.
