Re: RC10 40th Anniversary boxart - Striped Decals vs Painted Stripes

Newbie question: How do you cleanly cut sections of the outer overspray film? Just use a hobby knife and carefully peel? Or am I missing something? I'd like spray the entire interior with Tamiya Camel Yellow (PS-19), then hit the exterior with Tamiya Black (PS-5) for the cockpit area from the outsid...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I just got these micro snap ring pliers for thr RC10 Classic 40th drive gear bushing retaining ring and it made installing the ring SUPER easy. It’ll also be great for future tear downs as I went with ball bearings instead of using the bushings. Highly recommend this tool: https://www.mcmaster.com/...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

“Made” some tribute motors for future builds https://tcphotos.net/images/2024/05/11/IMG_8121.jpeg anyone selling motor decals like these? I’d love to make a tribute AE 540 with a fresh motor. I just use MCI, usually order on 20% off weekends. They serve the purpose as I’m not trying to pass them of...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

the highest number we have collected so far is 4930 and the lowest is 0046 Someone posted 5264 on ebay today. So maybe we are going to be 5,500 to 6,000 units. Would be nice if AE could actually provide some clarity around the number of chassis they made and, probably more importantly, what the par...

Re: #6007 RC10 40th Classic Kit

I tried 4 washers but felt i didn’t get a good purchase on the body post so went back to just 2.

AE - Are you listening? I’ll trade you 2 washers for a paper manual. Hit me up via private message if interested.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Agree that LiquidRC has Super Fast shipping - usually same day. I’m in Mass and usually have my parts in 2-3 days from the order. Now searching their website… that’s another matter  I halfway signed up to comment on this post. I thought I was missing a search bar on their website or something....

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Liquid RC is also showing stock: https://www.liquidrc.com/item/ASC6007 $379.99 plus $0.99 shipping and they don't collect sales tax. Very tempting. :D I previously bought a 2nd RC10CC direct from Liquid RC because of their reasonable prices, low shipping charge and no sales tax collection. It's nic...

Re: #6007 RC10 40th Classic Kit

OK I see it in the manual now (wasn’t published 2 days ago). Still odd that it says “x2” but shows 4 washers. Anyway, keeps us active on RC10talk at least

Re: #6007 RC10 40th Classic Kit

@duckhead

Wonderful post. Question: Why did you use 4 washers on the front body post instead of 2 per instructions? I was wondering why I had 2 left over after step 1 and you seem to know far more than I do about the RC10.

Thanks!

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Not sure if posted elsewhere but just noticed the AE website shows the RC10 Classic 40th as being “Low Stock”. Perhaps we are getting close to the end (5,00 units?).

My neighbor placed an order 4/22 and has not received a shipping notice (startig to sweat a little).

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Standard. I’m using the kit supplied hex wrenches (gasp!) and they are working just fine. I do like the ability to make slow turns with a lot of hand feel using these small L shaped hex wrenches. I’ve been known to over torque and these plastics are dainty.
