Re: Optima is back!!
GoMachV and jwscab got what I meant. I found the reason for the wobbling "trinidad" wheels. There is not enough thread on the axle to properly fasten the wheel lock nut. Easily fixed by using a washer between the wheel and the nut. Sorry.... English is not my first language  so pleas...

Re: Optima is back!!
Just ordered a set of those top gray Trinidad wheels. Just got a package with a few of those "Trinidad" wheels, and they seems to be good fits for the Optima. The hex maybe just a tiny bit wide... so the wheel kind of wobbles slightly. It might be the Optima hexes that's a bit too small o...

Re: Optima is back!!
The Optima is a tricky one to jump good. You need to work with the throttle the whole time. From what I remember: On "straight forward" jumps it had a tendency to nosedive, but if the run-in to the jump was steep it was really hard to get the nose down. Just try to balance the car in your ...

Re: Optima is back!!
I have always liked the tops pointing forward. Real cars, RC cars, doesn't matter. They look odd to me pointing backwards, as not being as aggressive. I really believe that shows how different we humans perceive things. To me it just looks totally wrong if they point forwards, but then again I feel...

Re: Optima is back!!
A friend of mine once had a 1:1 Ford Escort RS Turbo. It came with wheels not unlike the design of the Optima wheels, only the spokes on all four wheels were slanted the same way. So on the right side they were facing backwards like on the box art Optima, but on the left side the spokes were slanted...

Re: Optima is back!!
Fit, yes. Offset correctly, no. I have ordered a pair of the traxxas 7171 2.2 wheels and I'm told they are correct offset. I'll let you know when they arrive. They are supposedly the correct offset. Yes, those Traxxas wheels fit. I have used them on both Tomahawk and Optima runners. They make the c...

Dennis,
I haven't filled the shocks, just assembled them. I will be using kyoshos modern threaded shocks.

Re: Optima is back!!
Anyone know what size the wheel hexes are? Wondering if I can run modern tires at the track....... The hexes are the same size as the original. It needs wheels with another offset than most modern wheels. These will fit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-7171-2-2-Dished-Wheels-White-2-1-16-E-Revo-/39...
