Re: TEAM TEKIN 2014 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 5-7TH

it's not the jumps but the surface that concerned me last year. some of the classics just couldn't get any traction, as well as the heavy metal trucks. I know it's not a huge deal as those are pretty small classes. but it is the vonats.... don't get me wrong the facility is great and the people are ...

Re: RC10T - Dirt Setup questions :)

stock bellcranks always loosened up on my truck. hated them.
I run a composite craft set now, no issues.

I run blue/silver on my truck, high bite, smooth track.

Re: Tire Choices

the tires that come on the Tamiya dt02 buggies, like the sand viper, are hard spikes/no insert. they work well on grass and ungroomed surfaces.

Re: Racer's, lets talk about the new breeds of 2wd buggies..

I like it a lot. I've only got 2 practice sessions and one club race night on it. on power steering is a new sensation to me! so fast out of the corners, carries a lot of speed. rotates well on the infield, very well, I'm cutting corners faster and tighter then I ever have. I'm still running a box s...

Re: TEAM TEKIN 2014 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 5-7TH

any chance for a better surface this year? last years track was ok for the racers but the classics and heavy metal suffered greatly.

it's tough to run og tires on that stuff. I gotta admit that the bethel surface was the best for the oldies.

Re: RE RE 10T or T5/T5M

I think a T5M is a given. As much as I didn't like the 10T back in the day, having a T4 has changed my mind and I'm completely obsessed now with stadium trucks. I have two 10Ts in progress for shelf queens and one runner on the way. I agree the only thing that would be cool is getting access to new...

the hemi's nice and all but if he did buy it, he'd be looking at doing body work instead of motor work. you can't win.

Re: So for my "first" beer tonight...

it's that corona time of year, for me anyway.

it starts for me the first time I mow the lawn, the corona flows as long as the grass grows.

the whiskey and lagunitas (or whatever hoppy goodness I have on hand) come out after dark.

Re: Wife needs a new car

From what I've read there were issues with the paint peeling in the past on aluminum bodied vehicles. Ford said this has been remedied with a new painting process. I've also read that repairs are a little more pricey than standard steel bodied vehicles. Most of the cost comes from special painting ...

Re: NIX10M

I've read through the thread a couple of times and really admire the work you guys have put in. It looks like you run the standard 3 gear stealth, how have you overcome the old motor rotation to rear traction issues that reportedly blighted the Tekin chassis or was that just hearsay and not really ...

Re: Wife needs a new car

Buy a 73 - 79 Ford F150 or 250. Best selling truck for a reason :D this! i'm currently on the hunt for one, i'll even go into the early 90's if it has a inline 300 or a 351w. (i need a supercab though, for the kiddies) i can't bring myself to buy a dodge, too many of them running around with so muc...

Re: How to break the cycle?

i came to the realization that rc is more important to me then 1:1's. i sold off all my vw's. sold off most of my guns. stopped buying expensive whiskey and absinth. now that it's spring i'll spend more time on the property, mowing, gardening, tractor fun times....but rc will always be there for me....
