Re: My finished Mint Boxart JR-X2 5-Link
That's one hot looking 'X2'! Great to see a shelf queen with period electrics, really makes it more complete. Excellent photos too, really bring out the best in the car, hope you don't mind me asking how you achieved such a professional looking shot? I find it so frustrating taking photos of my pri...

My finished Mint Boxart JR-X2 5-Link
Ok, so it's not 100% done, as I haven't finished the wiring quite yet, but I figured it was pretty close, and it was time to throw together a few pictures of the car. Im sure plenty of you have more work into your cars, but this was quite a project for me, mainly in locating 100% NIP original pieces...

Re: Help me with 5link wiring
Thanks for the help guys... I think I have it planned out now... going to look gorgeous when all done (the entire car front to back is never-run). I too think an extension would be the wrong way to go. FYI, even the picture of the novak T-4 on novak's website shows this type of yellow/red/black serv...

Re: Revolution Motors
Yeah, Iv looked and looked.. for quite a while. Every once in a while I will find a used one all marked up... but NIP or 100% unused are pretty hard to find.FasterLouder wrote:eBay,dude.
Or if you have access to the 10Talk B/S/T ?
All of my Revolutions were lucky scores from eBay.

It's a Novak T-4...JK Racing wrote:i believe those are the original ones....(deans)
for the novak, here is a pic straight from their site (knowing it is a 1, not a 4), see the wiring is braided and not yellow.
was that NIP refurb or NIP original?

Re: Help me with 5link wiring
1. Thanks for the tips guys... you keep saying the wires aren't orginal, but I just opened the T-4 speedo new in the package myself. It had never been touched, heat sinks never even pressed on... 100% brand spakin new. Either way, how do I get the receiver wire over to the receiver if i don't go acr...

Help me with 5link wiring
So, I'm ready to finish up my wiring on my 5link, and need some help with my novak T4, and motor wiring. Where I have the speedo mounted makes things a bit difficult, but i know iv seen them mounted here before. See picture: 1) The motor wires don't reach the motor, so I will need to use a plug? Mod...

Hey, I just noticed that you are in lakeside... when you were racing back in the late 80s, where did you race? I'm from San Diego.

Re: Recapturing a childhood memory
Great story, I really enjoyed the read. I have to say, my very first experience in RC, and the JRX2 (my first RC ever) wasn't all that dissimilar, and those memories during that period of my life ('88) are some of my most treasured from my childhood. I too am building a shelf queen original 5link JR...

Re: Goodies for my shelfqueen JRX2
DerbyDan, I have certainly made up my mind about soldering the car up in a RTR fashion. I cut the body out last night and it came out amazing. I spent almost 2 hours trimming and dremmeling to make it flawless. I spent a lot of time test fitting to make sure the hole cuts were perfect. It is amazing...
