Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I do cheat and use a digital set more and more, but I like my Brown and Sharpe best. I bought these 28yrs ago while working in a machine shop. Nice. When I started my career I was gifted a set a 6" Brown & Sharpe's by a guy that was retiring. I used them mostly as backup. I just wasted ano...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I'm actually an engineer and have lots of precision calipers You have to appreciate the irony of you following up this statement by showing what looks to me any standard digital micrometer, and its battery being held in place with masking tape. Is that thing NIST traceable? perhaps it is also...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Here is a no stamp chassis…slightly thicker @ 1.67mm. https://i.postimg.cc/1zgMx4P0/04-BC3-B00-2-D6-C-412-B-8138-AFB71-E8-F67-F8.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/GmgzSv0h/32-F2-B282-9-C49-42-E2-BE97-684077838-BAB.jpg so is that a very early chassis? that's pretty cool. Make sure to check out my earlier pos...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
ok, I think it's good to have reference points. For my data I will take those additional measurements and add them to my post. If I scratch one of my chassis with the calipers I'm blaming you guys! If we can get one or two more people would be cool too, even if just one chassis version on hand...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
That was a nice detailed comparo highlighting the differences between the RC10 pans with facts and firsthand observations azone! Your post made me laugh in a good way--(very neutral, measured, and evidence-based). Thanks for taking time to provide the info and pics dude. The community here apprecia...

Nylon color - through the decades including the 40th
Since the question regarding the color of the nylon parts for the 40th kit came up, I'm revisiting a question I have had for a long time. First, the 40th kit parts are definitely a shade whiter than old kits ever were - albeit not as big a difference as might be thought. Furthermore though... it see...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
About the chassis it is certainly thinner and lighter than the original. It's like the CC. I don't have the classic reissue so can't comment on that one. Do you have actual thickness numbers to support the thinner claim? From my research, I have heard the 40th is as thick as an original variant. I ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
There are numbers in the 7,000's. Someone on YouTube had 7xxx. About the chassis it is certainly thinner and lighter than the original. It's like the CC. I don't have the classic reissue so can't comment on that one.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
thanks for the reply. I actually love to color of the 40th parts and the shiny gold chassis which is pretty far off any old RC10's - even the deeper gold ones. As for my kits they were purchased brand new in the box, I built them. So they are as good an example as one may get - kind of why I bought ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
received my 40th kit today direct from associated - I was one of last orders before went out of stock about 3 weeks ago. So if ordered direct should get yours soon. The color of the nylon is very very slightly more white than the last original kits that came from Cadillac Ave. The color of the nylon...

Re: ReRe World's Stealth Transmission rubs against motor plate
ok thanks for the concise answer. Freaking annoying. Only after building one, finding the problem, and then searching did I find it's pretty much freaking annoying to every RC10 rere person on the planet. lol. (I was planning on using it on an original car... now I'm more inclined to buy an original...
