Re: 4WD Gold Tub
Nice work.. I'll be watching this build with great interest.. In regard to the problem you have with the imperial idler shaft, and metric sprockets.. How would you go enlarging the bearing holes in the tranny case to accept 5x10mm bearings, then using a 5mm shaft and a 5mm 48dp pinion gear the same...

Re: 4WD Gold Tub
Sprocket should run you about $6-10USD (+shipping) so long as it's not a hard to find pitch. If you want to take a random shot you could try this 11t Kyosho Mad Force sprocket up front: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_1460_1374/products_id/163323/n/Kyosho-11T-Sprocket Might ...

Re: 4WD Gold Tub
Thanks phin, very useful input. Yeah this is for fun, no serious racing or anything! I may call and hope they can help me figure out what I need, maybe they are familiar with the Yokomo 834-b dimensions. The Yokomo 834-b is not 4WD, rather front assisted, right? I think I'm using the two sprockets f...

Re: 4WD Gold Tub
Looks very cool, I have had similar ideas but seeing it mocked up and functional gives me even more ideas  Is there a reason you used a gt gearbox besides the fact you had it lying around? What did you do to pin the idler to the new shafts? Thank gomachv, I hope you run with them! No other...

Re: 4WD Gold Tub
Looks pretty good so far. How many teeth are on the sprockets? Going off the idlers with the chain, you've got 2.6 at the front and 2.25 at the rear so I'm thinking you're going to need 13t front and 15t at the rear sprockets to get the ratios as close as you can. Could also opt for overdrive and g...

Re: 4WD Gold Tub

I just chose this because I had the parts and everything ...

4WD Gold Tub
I had a nutty idea to use a nitro DS gearbox and convert one of my runners to 4WD, very similar to the elusive MIP conversion. I used 834-b C-hubs and Yokomo wheel adapters with Tamiya knuckles, axles and carriers. Everything seems to be working except the gear ratio up front is too low and need to ...

Re: Super Duper HotShot Lohas Hot Trick RC-10 DS Nose Plate
Thank you! I have just built some Vintage Parma Big Bore shocks for the front, so making a little progress at least!1300GT wrote:That'll be pretty good when it's done.

Re: Super Duper HotShot Lohas Hot Trick RC-10 DS Nose Plate
I am thinking RC-10 with the roof and window area removed to expose the cage. Like this one by Parma -1300GT wrote:I like the twin rear shock setup on that. Any ideas for a bodyshell yet?

Super Duper HotShot Lohas Hot Trick RC-10 DS Nose Plate
Just another project here, this time one inspired by a chassis plate and parts from RC-Lohas. I suspected from the photos that an RC-10 DS nose plate would bolt on which it did! 8) Then, inspired by a HotShot by Grahoo, I used mostly stock parts change to an inboard rear shock configuration. I am ki...
