Way too good to run. Reckon you could whip another one up before Friday Arvo?

That's probably what it is.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 7:38 am Maybe just the same black oxide surface treatment as 4-40 screws, dog bones and axles for asthetic purposes.
What's wrong with a lovely shade of rust?

Re: RC10CC classic clear wait list....
I noticed the outdrive gears are black in all the pictures. There's also one shot of the car in pieces and you can clearly see the top diff shaft and gear are black as well.

Thanks. I wanted something different for my Classic so I copied the AYK Boost paint scheme and dyed the nylon parts orange and black.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 10:01 pm Your RC10 must have been eating a lot of carrots or at least terrorizing some backyard gardens. Those are some seriously orange front arms! Very cool!

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Whilst I had the brass out, I made a 14.5 gram nose weight for the Classic.

Modified the Optima's battery mounts to hold a shorty lipo properly. The Velcro straps weren't going to manage. To remove the battery just unscrew the thumbnut and remove the post and lipo. 1.jpg Also made and fitted 12 grams of brass weight to the Optima's nose. It's easy to remove if needed. 2.jpg

 That's awesome, I'll definitely take them and add them to my 80's racer kit if you don't want them. That's not a proper charge lead though is it? One of the wires should be a resistance wire. I wonder how they'd go charging a lipo ? Yep. It's real. Both leads are resistance wires....

I can post these to you RJ. Don't know if they'll help?

For a true vintage experience, only run it with four bearings. Leave all the bushings in place. That'll make it even slower! Just like the good old days!

Thanks. That gives me another option other than Kyosho soft fronts.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2023 6:04 am If you want some more front grip, the JConcepts 1.9 fronts fit nicely on the Kyosho wheels.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Machined two Tamiya re-release SRB rear axles from 5mm to 4mm diameter where the wheels sit and added Kyosho Scorpion drive washers to each. 3.jpg This allows me to run unmodified Kyosho Scorpion wheels and tyres on the rear. The front wheels use four 5x8mm bearings. Swapping back to the older wheel...

Got a nice haul of Aussie Dirt & Track magazines in the mail.... a local deal, and pretty good price as well. 26 of the first 29 issues... some rare awesomeness here! DandT.jpg Issue 26 is going to a good mate to complete his D&T collection, and the rest..... who knows? Maybe I'll just read...
