Re: Old Novak receiver

I have one of these receivers also. I've always called it a NER-2, but never seen any documentation. It's the same size as the old aircraft receivers (bottom half of the case is interchangeable), but it's a purpose built 2 channel.

It takes nerves of steel to cut up a concourse winning body.
The whole build is awesome. You got all the details right. Great Job!

Re: Brad Reelfs RC10 Replica ('93 FL Winterchamps Winner)

Cheers Brad - interesting... Once the design was finalized, were the top official pilots running pistons from the piston tree, or machined ones? Because (properly) machined ones would work have likely worked better anyway :) As far as I know, everyone used the production pistons after they became a...

Actually, machined pistons weren't a common thing back then. This just happened to be around the time Associated released the 1-2-3 piston trees, and these were prototype #1 pistons.

That was actually my brother, not me. It was still spelled wrong though. Only one "t" in his name.

1992 Reedy Race Program

I saw the 25 year throwback link for the Reedy Invitational report last week. Coincidentally, I found this program a few days ago.

I didn't scan the whole thing, because it's mostly heat sheets. However, I thought people might like to see the note from Mike Reedy and Invitational drivers list.

Re: - News from Japan... -

I think Phin is correct with the 1989 estimate. Based on the tires, prototype wheel adapters, body and wing; I'm guessing it was his Australia practice car. That would explain why the front of the body is so narrow. He probably cut it to fit the stealth car, then mounted a new one for the race.

You beat me to it. I also did some work on the decal, and checked the size as well.
The large decal I started with is eight inches across (total width, not the text). I shrank it to five inches, and the fit looks pretty good.

Re: Mark Pavidis 1994 Florida Winter Champ RC10T

yup. any reason why he would have that thick of a tower in the rear? I don't know. With those holes drilled fairly close to the bulkhead/mounting area, a single tower was probably a little flexy. The front tower wouldn't have near as much stress on it (shocks in the center and no body mounts), so a...

Re: Mark Pavidis 1994 Florida Winter Champ RC10T

brad do know anything about his shock towers? I don't remember anything specific about the towers on that truck. I'm sure they would have been the thick 3-hole front and 4-hole rear versions though. The Winterchamps was always in February, so early '94. The '94 Nationals was when we started using t...

Re: Mark Pavidis 1994 Florida Winter Champ RC10T

One more detail on Mark's truck... The battery brace isn't carbon fiber. It's a standard AE fiberglass brace, with a carbon fiber decal. He used the stuff below. If you look closely around the edges, you can see spots were the decal started to peel.

This one is too big, and it's multi-color. But if you want to do some Photoshop work, this should be a good start. If you want a scan, send me a PM.

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build

I have similar ones on the original body but do not want to remove them... it is also covered with the rest of his usual stickers for reference http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=17973 I found some of the small decals also, in what should have been an obvious place to look. And...
