Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

I've just recently built my B5 and it was excellent with awesome tolerances and quality, this car is very similar money to buy though, so there is no excuse for the poor quality. Exactly this ^. The Worlds Car reissue/recreation/whatever is still a Team Associated product so the expectation of high...

Re: Rc10 Worlds rere, who's building one?

just finished my build and one of the first things I noticed was that the trans brace is almost perfectly level,i don't think I could even start to even be able to measure how far its off or not off its that un noticeable unless you are a perfectionist. ive built many rc10's and ive always had to p...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

well my worlds kit has some 90's era parts in it now  ....found 4 flanged bearings for the bell cranks...now my steering is smooth. why wouldn't associated just put bearing in the bell cranks over bushings? kinda stupid. I mean its not like im going for spot on 100% accurate worlds car here. Q...

Drinking saki on a break would indicate that these are Japanese made, wouldn't be any quality issues if that was the case
You can have quality control issues in any country! :)

Re: Worlds Car Shocks and O-rings

A dab of oil helps a bunch to keep the cap from grabbing it and twisting it out or damaging it. This is very similar to putting a little bit of oil on a new oil filter for a car.

Additionally, not have the bleeder screw on will typically help as well.

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

The ironic part though is that the US style stealth is reported to go together great, it's the ReRe new case and topshaft causing the problems. Long live old technology! I am surprised Tim still comes around after all the bashing we give him  I hope he understands how much we app...

Just use the diff grease and you'll be fine after a run or two.

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

with all this talk of tranny issues, it sounds like bitd building a 6 gear, the difference is you just did what you needed to do and didn't have a forum to discuss it. i'll give the steath lube a try on the gears to quiet the gear box, i heard of some people using shock oil on b4 tranny, but wouldn...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

@ fastang, please email dnatale@rc10.com. Don is one of our customer service guys and is pretty familiar with all RC10 related kit issues. In the case of the topshaft, just get in touch with Don and he will most certainly take care of you. For those of you that are reporting 'rough' topshaft gears, ...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

Actually Cliff had even told me that back in the day they would grease their gears with the diff lube to help improve efficiency of the transmission. The diff grease is actually an excellent grease for plastic (but terrible for metal on metal, which is why it works so well on the diff ball and keep...

Re: Part Differences - Old vs. New

Anyone receive one of the #6309 nose plates yet? I see some of the stock photo's for these show the V shaped back and some show the earlier square type. This was updated to the trimmed nose plate so that the part number matches the original. It was also done out of the assumption that more people w...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

Yes to the trans issue!!i must have put together 30 or more stealth trans and result them but never had any issues like this China one! I spent atleast 2 hours hand fitting the topshaft to the idler gear. I was not happy at all about it. I almost put a rpm trans or a black stealth case new built tr...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

The manual says .89's  *sigh..Well, that's unfortunate. I caught that mistake while reviewing the manual, but it looks like our manual guy did not send our web guy the updated version that is supposed to say .71". I hate it when this kind of carelessness happens, sorry for any confusion....

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

So the front shock bodies are .89" stroke now? What happened to the .71" threaded fronts. :x Did someone say that he out has no wheels and tires in the box? Tim can you confirm this? Picture in the box shows the car w/ wheels. In the theme of this being a mostly retro kit I'd expect the k...
