Re: Vintage Brat rebuild, London UK

Looking like a good survivor and an excellent base for restoration . One of my friends had a Brat back in the 80's and one thing it suffered from was the rear hex drive shafts (dog bones ) rounding off , no matter what he did or how well lubed and sealed they just wore out , the Re-Re has regular d...

Re: Vintage Brat rebuild, London UK

The buggy came with this fully working but very dirty Tamiya transmitter. I can't find a lot about it online apart from it appears to have been supplied with the little Tamtech models in the eighties. I really like the look of this unit. Info very welcome, thanks. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535...

Re: Vintage Brat rebuild, London UK

As I say, suggestions on affordable second hand receiver and ESC would be most welcome. I've been ahead and stripped the car right now so I can get to know the ORV design better. Yet to delve into the gearbox though. I'm thinking I'll run it with the 380 at first (never seen one in action) then swap...

Vintage Brat rebuild, London UK

Hey folks, Early Brat has been lurking in my attic for a couple of years and lockdown here in the UK has given me an excuse to drag it out. This is my first ORV having been a Kyosho Scorpion/Beetle kid. The car is very original and likely quite low miles. It has the 380 motor, setup to take a 6v bat...

Re: Cut & shut childhood racer - my trashed Scorpion

Couldn't resist, £60 worth of Beetle sans shell but with original radio box cover, in much better nick than my own one saved from the 80's. http://jpegbay.com/gallery/004333066-2.html#2 Good rear tires and rims, proper diff instead of spur gear. All plain bearing, missing front wheels but I have a B...

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion

Great video, really enjoyed it. Dan London UK http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=N-xo_n4LKOw Some close up slow mo track action with the Scorpion. Sorry its kind of long and repetitive but I'd already cut half the clips and didn't want to cut...

Re: CRP/Turbo Scorpion Racer

Hi Lars, does anyone make side bars that might fit a Scorpion? For protecting the rear wheels and arms I mean.

thanks

Yeah the Assault chassis was a great buy what as it the gearbox also contains a silky diff not to mention pretty straight rails and the rear cross member.

Re: Cut & shut childhood racer - my trashed Scorpion

So a year long I'm looking at fitting more of the Assault parts to the Beetle. The Assault rollings chassis already donated it's bumper to the all original Scorpion (just order a body for that), its wheels to the Beetle and it's rear shocks too. However the Beetle is still running a 1983 style front...
