Re: RC12LC Foam Tires

I just went through this with my RC12Lw and RC10 converted on road car (not RC10L) I ended up making 3d printed hubs for both cars so I could run modern wheels and tires. http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=39182 This place makes donuts to YOUR specs but I had them make me a set and I w...

Re: - Original Masami Hirosaka RC-10 GX prototype -

Man that's come cool stuff! Nice score! So how exactly is the front sway bar mounted? Never seen that before... The front sway bar is nothing really special: it uses the grooves in the front arm mounts and then the outer shock holes on the a-arms as a mounting point. No mod needed but you can't use...

Re: #6002 - RC10 Worlds Car Kit

Hey all. I just finished my Worlds build and I think I was generally lucky in that I didn't have any major problems with the parts. There is one issue, however, and I am wondering what I should do. The holes for the bleed screws on the shock caps seem like they were waaaayyyy too small. I was not a...

Re: Sell, Build, or Keep

Does nobody any good sitting in a box in the closet. I'll add to this and say "also does nobody any good sitting built on the shelf" either... But that's just me. I'd build it, race it, modify it whatever. Same goes with real cars...never understood why people stored their cars. Sure, mak...

Re: RC12L wheel/tire options? - (EDIT - My Solution)

Thanks guys it was a fun project for sure! I could offer it in stainless on shapeways but it'd be like $50! Ill take a set! I made it for sale in stainless but it's showing some thin walls. Not sure if they will let it go. You can certainly try it and if it fails you won't have to pay. It's in the ...

Re: RC12L wheel/tire options? - (EDIT - My Solution)

Yes mine was like that too. As mentioned the new wheels forced me to build the extra thickness into that right hub along with having to mount the wheel to the hub with screws. The diff portion works the same with the exception of how the wheel mounts.

Hope that makes sense.

Re: RC12L wheel/tire options? - (EDIT - My Solution)

Well I ended up making my own hubs to work with modern wheels. Turned out awesome. As you know the original setup used that set screw to hold the hub to the axle...mine uses the newer style clamp. Only thing I'm worried about is the weight of the nut and bolt on the one side causing imbalance...I gu...
