Re: - Early Edinger RC10 resto -

The last couple pictures you posted makes the car feel like a box art car to me, but if you already have one of those, maybe give the Curtis Husting RC10 manual replica a go. Either way, everything cleaned up well and looks great so far, looking forward to more progress! PS> What specific process di...

Re: Jsourbeck on ebay

Sad news indeed... I did not have the privilege of knowing or talking directly with Jim but I purchased quite a few items over the years and it was a pleasure doing business with him. Threads like this do make you reflect and think about what a special community it is that we have here. Hug a loved ...

Re: For Info TH-1 Yokomo Adaptors

Im not sure if I’ve missed this somewhere already but for information guys, good news, someone is now producing two versions of the TH-1 adaptors, one standard and one reporting to be replicas of the ones fitted to Masami’s 91 Steath car. Is it someone we know? Quick search on eBay and they’ll turn...

Cool vintage racing on Youtube

Hey guys check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Trdo8FPToCk Trdo8FPToCk If you watch starting the ~9:11 mark you will see the 4WD Open race with Jim Dieter racing his Schumacher Cat. I believe his car (#1) is the same car he won the 1987 ROAR Nats with, pretty cool to have footage of this v...

Re: For Info TH-1 Yokomo Adaptors

Hope the move is going well, super jealous you made the move to Idaho, such a great state. Illinois, is frustrating, at best  Unfortunately we are stuck in communist Portland (outskirts). The wife isn’t nearly as committed to leaving as I am. Sucks, because I saw a lot of places in Idaho t...

Re: Hello everyone

Yeah I found everything in a cardboard box stuffed into a corner of a metal outbuilding at an estate sale. I asked the guy how much and he said: "Gimme $5 and it's yours". Very nice find! As others mentioned above, she'll clean up nicely. The car looks to have had very low run time, the c...

Re: Have you noticed...

I do believe the reason for the two holes in the motor plates backside is for tooling, to hold it in the jig while the press comes down to create the two bends. Basically the two holes were for dowels to hold the plate firmly while the press comes down and bends the motor plate at 90 degrees and al...

Re: Have you noticed...

For what it's worth, I have made a motor plate for one of the runner cars -- no access to special tools or a press. I just traced the part, cut a blank then clamped and formed it around a block, doing my best to emulate with crude hand tools the process I thought AE had used. Clearly, I was wrong. ...

Re: Have you noticed...

Well... now that we are in the rabbit hole... Here is another interesting observation: proto-edinger.png Notice the upper ball stud location on the front block carrier, the hole appears to be offset from center to the outside of the carrier. If you look closely it looks as if the left and right bloc...

What is the consensus on what appears to be an aluminum bracket capturing the inner hinge pin on Jay's front a-arm?

Also, holy heck that is a lot of lightening holes...

Re: GoMachV’s migration East

Congrats on the move Jeff, super stoked for you 8) Always difficult to make a move and uproot yourselves but it sounds like it is the right choice and right time. Living in the Midwest we only see what is going on in Portland through the lenses that are given to us, but it definitely sounds like are...
