The RC10 I've Always Wanted
Like many here, I have more than my fair share of vintage RC10's, but this one has been under construction for over 2 years sitting in the background waiting for the right parts and trying to decide how to paint it. I wanted this one to be more of a street buggy. I wanted something different from th...

"Just a Slash" No Prep Drag Car
With No Prep rc drag racing growing rapidly here in southern Oregon, I decided to build my second attempt at a drag car build. I wanted sort of a "sleeper". Anyone looking to see what I'm running will, at first glance, see it's just another Traxxas Slash. I tried to add a few go-fast goodi...

Re: "Just a Slash" No Prep Drag Car
Here's a pic of the paint job. Not my best work, but it will do. I've been trying my hand with liquid masking, but there is a learning curve. I loved the Rc10 gold pan paint color so much on my recent buggy build, that I decided to try it on the Nova body.

Re: Your forever car...
Impossible! The very idea is ludicrous sir! I sat here thinking about it for a few minutes and decided it can't be done. It would be like choosing one of my children over the others. I could narrow it down to the top 12.

Re: "Just a Slash" No Prep Drag Car
First actual organized NPRC race today. The car ran straight and consistent all day with no mishaps. I definitely saw the limits of a cheapo 6.5t motor in a 4 lb., 13 oz. car. After a gear change and playing with the timing, 2.7 seconds @ 51mph was all she was going to do. Launched well, didn't ride...

Re: "Just a Slash" No Prep Drag Car
Yeah, I hear about a different rule change coming about every week. Looks like the rules have been decided for the 2021 season. I agree, it needs to be kept simple. I was very careful when building my car to stay far inside the parameters of whats "acceptable". Heavy car, short wheelie bar...

Re: "Just a Slash" No Prep Drag Car
It's sort of funny when you think about it. Weeks of stressing over parts shortages, countless hours of planning, building and testing. About $1000, and the ol'lady is frowning at every penny. In the end it all comes down to a moment less than 3 seconds long that ends with your toy car being just a ...

Buggyra Euro Truck
The Euro Truck class is gaining popularity fast at my local racetrack. I picked this up earlier this week and will start racing it this weekend. Pretty cool class. Cheap to get into it too. I already had servo, radio and transponder from other vehicles. The kit, battery, optional silver wheels and a...

Re: "Just a Slash" No Prep Drag Car
I haven't done an update on this post in a while, so it's time to catch up a little. I've been making steady changes to the car. It's currently using an Extreme carbon fiber chassis. After burning up 2 Hobbywing g2's within 3 days, I made the switch to a Tekin Rx8. Couldn't seem to get the revs I wa...

FOUND: 1997 IEDA World Championship Winning Drag Car
An older gentleman wandered into my local racetrack the other day asking about anyone interested in buying an old rc drag car collection. I jumped at the chance, of course, and met him at his house after the race day ended. The man's name was Ben Laureano. He told me tales of winning drag races bitd...

Re: B5M/SC5M No Prep Street Outlaw Drag Car
They are classified as 1/10 since they are based off of 1/10 shortcourse truck chassis, but the bodies that are made for them for no prep drag racing are closer to 1/8 scale. The class we race these in specify short course truck wheelbase. Widths vary between short course width to buggy width depend...

Re: '78 Chevy Malibu Drag Car Body
Thanks Jeff. I've been inspired lately by a couple of my favorite rc painting artists and I've been trying to fine tune a few techniques. I was really happy with this one.
