Tamiya”ish” F-150 2wd Baja Truck

The Start: I've always liked the Tamiya F-150 body, since it was my first rc car (Blackfoot) and I've always wanted to do something out of the box with it....I've had this body for a couple of years, not knowing what to do with it, until I had this leftover Lunchbox transmission, that I couldn't sta...

Re: Tamiya”ish” F-150 2wd Baja Truck

Part 2:

The bottom holes for the tube chassis and the frame rails line up almost perfectly....

The front end was 4 linked using Fox C hubs and the transmission was flipped around, to allow me for an easier 4 link set up....

Re: My First RC10T3

Here’s a quick paint job for my runner body, I hope to paint up another one in my racing colors, and some MCI decals as I progress with this.... Gave it a bit of a thrashing before taking these pictures and it was pure joy, although, the 21t motor doesn’t move it as fast as the 5.5T that I had on my...

Re: Tecnica’s RC10 — 2020 VONATS BUILD (maybe)

A bit of progress:
I might go for the carbon 10T towers and big bore shocks....still awaiting B4 CVDs, turnbuckles, diff rebuild kit, steering bellcranks, and off course electronics....😁

Re: Tecnica’s 2020 VONATS RC10T2

So finally got my carbon shock towers and some other bits, so instead of waiting until everything comes in, I’ll piece in whatever part I get as I get it....keeps me sane🤪

Aluminum turnbuckles and rpm ball cups, while I wait for the Lunsford kit to come in😁

Re: Tecnica’s RC10B2/B3 “Old is Old” but cleaner

Pinted (painted) it 😉

Had to massacre the body to fit and Velcro to hold it, the body was short for the chassis (T3), so I did the best I could, I’m tempted to buy the short chassis and a new body, but just tempted😁

Re: Tecnica’s RC10 — 2020 VONATS BUILD (maybe)

Since I’m a restless RC person, I like to experiment, someone suggested the Custom Works front hex conversion, I ordered A set, mounted it, and it works awesome, the only thing is, you’d either have to use a long shank rod end, or use a shorter ball stud on the inner most hole on top of the caster b...

Re: Tecnica’s RC10 — 2020 VONATS BUILD (maybe)

Also, I ordered a Medium Length CVD Kit from Custom Works, and with the GT hubs, it wouldn’t get full up travel, sufficient, but not complete, because it would hit the inside if the outdrives, so I ordered B4 hubs, and used some creative spacing, and it also works fine, full up and down travel👍

Re: Tecnica’s RC10 — 2020 VONATS BUILD (maybe)

Might order 1.18” B44 rear shocks to limit the down travel a bit, and it should be 👌 That can be solved with inner and outer shims on the shock shafts! And it should be indeed... because that's way too much travel on this suspension, the car will be crazy lazy and roll a lot before anything happens...
