Re: Some of my tyco rc collection

I know I had some Tyco's in the early 80's as a kid, but I can't remember which ones. I did have the Golden Arrow from Radio Shack before I got my Optima. Wish I could find pic of those old cars.

Re: Some of my tyco rc collection

I don't know much about Tyco, but those are cool looking cars. When are they from?

My very first RC car without a wire was this Shinsei Lamborghini. It was actually pretty quick.

I bought 2 of them a couple of years ago and have been meaning to do something with them. One was basically NIB.

Re: My First Vintage Tamiya Blackfoot Restoration Project project Finally Finished!

That turned out really nice! I've never seen a Blackfoot Sassy Chassis before.

My biggest concern with a vintage Blackfoot is the hex shaped dogbone setup wearing out. The rerelease Blackfoot has been changed to the more reliable pin style dogbone setup.

Re: Anyone ever used these speedworks motors before?

I've used the 427 motor in a 4wd Turbo Optima. It was a fast enough for me (25+ years ago) but today that looks like a great condition collector's motor. Mine ended with the coming loose from the rest of the armature. I'm not sure how that happened, but it's the only motor I had that ever did that. ...

Re: Anyone ever used these speedworks motors before?

I had the "350". It did well for what it was. They were budget motors.

Someone in the marketing department was a Chevy guy. "350" and "427"

Re: My First Vintage Tamiya Blackfoot Restoration Project project Finally Finished!

I think this might be one of the most beautiful blackfoot builds ever. Seriously, this build almost made me buy a wrecked blackfoot that had sees wheels on it. I would have, if someone else didnt snag it first!

Re: Anyone ever used these speedworks motors before?

I have two 427 motors in excellent condition, but yet have to use them. Really considering putting one in my recent Traxxas SRT build (non runner). But I'll test them to see what they put out for rpm and amps.

I agree with Frankentruck, that's a pristine motor and should keep it as a shelf item.

Re: Anyone ever used these speedworks motors before?

If it matters to you, the specs are as follows...

The 427 motor is a 16X2 suited for 4WD with an RPM of 36,000.

The Dirt Oval motor is a 24X1 suited for 2WD Or 4WD with an RPM of 25,200.

Re: Tyco Bandit/Tamiya King Cab RCCA Magazine Tribute almost done!

It's amazing! I love that you have a king cab replica in the background too. I think the bandit is plenty fast as is. I personally wouldn't chance running brushless in one.

What are the light up cubes that the Bandits are sitting on?
