Re: == Who the Heck Are You? ==

Rav, medical professional.

On a nostalgic journey to find and collect buggies that I wish I had as a young kid, just loved that era from 1987-1995 of off-road.

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner

I use the small Harbor Freight one as well, with 50/50 water and Simple Green Pro (the purple SG is aluminum safe).

I put small parts and hardware in a stainless mesh tea ball so that they don't scatter.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

My TC3 is just do fun to drive! With the cold pavement and 12T double motor (pretty sure it's a Trinity D3 without label) it does some awesome powerslides! Unfortunately, the 'juat one more' bug bit me and I winged it a bit. Gotta print a replacement now. . 1000009149.jpg . 1000009148.jpg . 10000091...

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner

Ok ok I put it off enough, finally ordered the 10L Vevor off their website. Quite a bit cheaper than Amazon and there is a 5% off coupon that helps. $120 shipped vs $159 on Amazon. Should be about able to dunk an entire 1/12 scale in it 🤣

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Picked up this Novak Explorer Sport for the same price as a new 1060 esc. Itll go in my Hornet shelfer eventually, because period correct electronics are cool.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

I now have a dedicated set of axle pin pliers. I probably should drill a little pocket hole in the other side to steady axle pins for installation.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Now I have everything to covert the Blitzer Beetle to a Stadium Blitzer -- which is why I bought it in the first place. Have fun masking and painting the roll bar. It's annoying but worth the trouble. Screenshot_20240208_112315_Gallery.jpg For the number plates, I use scrap lexan from the wheel cut...

INSANITY!

PP motor is a ROAR '91 24° "Macho II"
TWISTERS is a very nice TWISTERS unknown spec (assuming 27t) stocker from same time period, with UltraHive repro label.

Re: Super Clod build with a few mods

On my build, I went with 4ws and I'm glad I did. I did use good servos, and mounted them behind the axles to cure the reverse Ackerman issue created by Tamiya front steer geometry. With 4ws I don't have any stability issues at speed. That said, I do add a little caster with the 4 links This is just ...

Re: Vintage Trinity Commutator Lathe (for stock motors)

Are you using the Sharpie trick?
Hit the Comm with a marker before you cut.
