Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread

This is not my first 1/8 car but the first Delta 1/8 gas car I got, a Delta Red Eagle of around 1982. Motor is a Novarossi Testa Oro, pipe is a McCoy. Pictures are right after unpacking. Body is unknown type, so also the first "What is it?" question. Let me know if you know this body.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Anyone know the maker of this 1/12 diff? I think it's Leisure Electronics but not sure. There was discussion about this diff before. This diff was designed by Thorp and sold through Thorp, MRP and Leisure. The metal parts were the same for all of these diffs, differences were for plastic parts. MRP...

Re: What year is this Checkpoint motor ?

Not sure if such motor is all Checkpoint made. I know Le Mans endbell could fit Yokomo can. But I don´t think Jim Greenemeyer made such mixes. Also Checkpoint modified engines were known using modular endbell what means slot brushes. It would be interesting to see if there is a Checkpoint armature i...

Re: What year is this Checkpoint motor ?

Yes it seems small brushes have been used at some point. For the armature it could be a Checkpoint. It seems there have been differences between Igarashi based and Yokomo based motors or others. Usually you can see Checkpoint armatures painted in red color but I think this was maybe more for Igarash...

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes

I found some at Ebay some years ago and I think that's the only source. But had to wait 'some' time to pop up and not cheap.
Asked slot racers but they used just those without wires.

Re: TAG/SG Coyote

Interesting fact on the Mustang motor. These were available to the Italian TAG team drivers only back in the days, so you got a very rare motor. Triple 16T was a hot wind that time and the prototype Team Losi Revolution motor I received that year was the same wind. Was released as Revolution Brutus ...

Re: RIP Brian Kinwald

I saw the bad news but just found this thread.
Meet him personally at the 1996 Onroad Worlds at the Trinity pits. Very calm and nice guy. Maybe have left photos.
RIP Brian

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

1st Does anyone remember who made the chassis brace and second do you remember what the yellow object was for Never have seen this brace before but usually most of these anodized aluminium parts were made by GPM. If it feels lightweight and soft aluminium it' s this company You dug back into the ar...

Nice MRP motors.
These are newer versions because their can is Mabuchi or Johnson.
Early MRP were based on Igarashi.

Re: R.I.P. Nick Adams

Mark Thanks for posting the link to the very early Demon 2 ESC. This is my museum. Glad you like it. I just got notice of Nick´s passing today, when I received a message from his daughter. It is quite emotional for me because Nick has been a friend to me since more than forty years. We just had not ...

Delta Super-J electric 1/8 project

Some people may know my love for Delta cars. I always dreamed about driving a Delta Super-J at a race track but it had to be electric, because I gave up on gas engines long ago. Around one year ago I started to brainstorm about the project and it was no easy task at all. Delta actually released a Su...
