Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower

There was not just one brand. At some point I knew the size but don´t remember now. But also I´m not a slot expert. Just knew what Jim told me or what I found. But old brain is fading. Usually slot brushes don´t have a shunt wire as it´s with R/C motors. There were a few but not much. From what I he...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower

There is a lot more history behind several of the well known RC motor builders, all originating from the 70's slot scene. I started delving into this and ended up buying an original Mick Goddard (MG) 550 slot car, fully hand made from brass bars and plates. Super cool. Mick was big in the slot scene...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower

I never have heard about a Reedy BK motor before but I think at this time I was more interested in Trinity or HPI based motors. And made a couple of conversions for my own needs. Do you have pics for that special armature? And what timeframe was this? Well I´m asking this for a reason. First, I thin...

Re: UK Lightweight Racer

For those of us in the USA… that would be called “government work”. “Doing” a foreigner in the USA would be prostitution

Cool Lake Whippoorwill video

Came across this gem while watching YouTube.

The crashes are fun to watch in slow motion. The track Marshall steps on Ralph Burch Jr. car at 23:50! Ouch!

Have all sorts of chassis and no idea what they went to. The guy was into dirt oval and it's sadly something I never ran except with converted Losi stadium trucks or buggies :P Any ideas on these? Project Big Bear; he’s iron tough

Scored a couple big bear projects lately and after thinking about it for a while I decided to create a chassis for one of em. Nothing crazy, with the very limited suspension I didn’t even bother accommodating oil shocks. Battery can fit sideways or lengthways, and it will support a shorty as well. B...

The plug looks like 1980s Robbe/Futaba. IIRC, Robbe (like other European manufacturers) often renamed imported products sold under their own name.

Someone have an idea which car this go for?
If I was to hazard a guess, I would say that's the Tamiya Porsche 959 Practice Bumper... the one that's NOT in red in this image.

1985 IFMAR Offroad 1/10 World Championships

I traveled to Del Mar in July of 1985 to attend the first 1/10 scale off road championships. I had a 35mm SLR camera and took 50+ pictures. Some good, some not so good. The pictures were on display in my hobby shop until I closed it in the early 90's. If you want to take a look I have them in an alb...

The RC10B3x Prototype

So a few days ago I found out about a car I had never heard of before, an RC10B3x. FB_IMG_1671071977619.jpg The car was run at the at the postponed 2001 Ifmar Worlds in 2002, and seems to have been raced at other tracks in 2002. Here is what Kurt Wenger mentioned on FB about it's specs: It was a new...
