Hi all, a friend of mine has just bought a MTA4 Thunder Tiger. The brushless set up motor is a goolrc 2650kv esc 80a. What is the biggest lipo it will take? TIA
Wanted to start an info thread on the Holeshot and Stinger buggies. This has been described as a more affordable OEM clone of the Genova buggy from Gforce. Please share any of your insights, advice or review or pics yours RC. I will have to wait a...

If you have the Holeshot how has the experience been so far with this truck? Holding up well and any modifications you recommend? Will be able to finally take it out of storage to take it for a run.
Just a heads up, anyone who wants something fast and modern and cheap to bash with, or if you've seen what folks online are doing with these things, the WLToys 144001 is already a screaming deal for less than $80. But at $37 they are practically...

If it's overkill, then I know I'm going in the right direction.
Yeah, just brought this thread back.
Looks like the NRC is making a final run of these 1:24 scale Goldpan and Blackpan. Figured other might be interested as well.

What's everyone using for a pinion and Motor on their NRC24? I got this kit:
And the motor screws DO NOT line up. The pinion I got fit but doesn't have a grub screw - basically just a press fit.
For a long time I was looking for a good small buggy. Good means to me:
- Quality, can handle powerful motors
- Looks like a race car, not like a plastic toy
- Rear-motor, because mid-motor works good on carpet and...
My son turns 8 tomorrow and really wanted a crawler kit. The 1/10 kit prices are too advanced and very expensive, so I decided to disassemble this and bag it up, then box for him.
Neat RTR carrying case. A little trimming with a knife...
Just installed my brushless kit, I had alot of clearance issues with the esc, so made a mount to mount it above the battery. Even had room to refit the fan.
What gearing would people recommend for a 13.5T motor?

I have p/n 7498 which is the factory team centered ESC mount. It's the CF version of what you made there. Ended up not using it with my Justock esc because of the way I routed the wires. I'm running a Justock 10.5 with a 20/78. According to the B6.4...
So I ran into an RC Screwz kit for the B4.2 in metric sizes. I’m under the impression that the RC10B series didn’t make the switch to metric until the B5, and I vaguely remember using imperial drivers on my FT B4.2 (don’t remember for sure).
Going though my old pitbox I found a untouched b4 sticker set including window masks.
Is there already a scan of these in the group? Otherwise, how would I go about getting a good scan to upload?
I'm looking for some assistance with identifying this car I picked up from the thrift store for less than $10.
Are there steps I can take to get it running, and test it?
It looks like I need a battery at first glance, before...

It appears to be a Tamiya Rising Storm which is based on the DF-02 platform.
Yep, Lowgear is correct, it's a Tamiya Rising Storm DF-02 buggy. Very solid, easy to get parts for, and go well enough.
I know this falls in the grey area of old school. It is a XXX-T Matt Francis 2 truck. It came out in late 2004. I actually bought and built this truck back then, and never ran it. I sold it about a year or so later, and have always regretted it.
Busting out the trusty B4 again and want to move the shorty LiPo as far forward as possible. I have a low profile servo in there and was thinking of removing the front wall of the battery box to move it right up behind the servo. Has anyone done...
I've had this sitting in a box for a couple years after a mate gave it to me, (I 'm guessing that its not really vintage) so I decided I might strip it down, and give it a good clean, and order any parts that it may need, just curious what version...

Oh boy, bumping this one from 10 years ago. Finally have a body on order from TBG (Along with a few others), so will be able to finish this off. Chassis has been rebuilt for years.
Greetings! First time poster but long term browser. This is a very neat community and I have enjoyed all the postings, photos, and insights into this addictive hobby.
So I have the opportunity to purchase a NIB RC10B4 (9034) or a NIB...

Maybe in 6 years the '00s will be the new '90s
GT2, Mamba Monster 6s ESC + Castle 2650Kv 1512 can. 32 pitch gears, 5mm, 24T Pinion, 54T spur. I can't believe it fits. I'm not even sure if I should run it once. Probably explode the transmission

Picked up my son and daughter from school. Came home and handed my son the transmitter with throttle to 50%. No problem for him at all. He’s a natural.

That gyro gives a driver so much confidence it’s unreal.
I bought this 22 5.0 Elite when it first came out several years ago. I have slowly built it up with just about all the upgrades you can make. I still have a few things to do, but it's close. I recently got this painted body. I put on the Fantom...

So it doesn’t matter what platform it is, it still ends up coming out all YOU…… nicely done 8)
The newest newest build of them all. This one is 2007!!!
Will try to hunt down all the elecronics and the biggest hurdle...trying to paint that box art body paint sheme :?

Did you ever get the body painted for this one?
No not yet! Still in a drawer.
It's the paint I'm most dreading. I've never bought a custom painted body ,but for this....
You have this super rare body. 24-36-24. Wait wrong topic.
Let me start over. You’ve held a AE 10b body for a decade. Oh man I don’t like where this one is going either. Would you cut and paint it, keep it on the wall, sell it, or send it to be...

picked up a couple myself when I got the scb. Buggy still in the box, bodies up in the lexan piles. Used scb showed up a lil while later...still in the box...yeah, too much going on to get to any of it.
I am looking at one of these to play on clay. Anyone have any advice or comments about one? I’m really far behind. I still run GT2 and T4 stuff.
Is the T6 chassis aluminum? Is it slower then the LT10 SW?

T6 is a Stadium Truck racing kit and has a aluminum chassis stock with a carbon chassis as an option. How 'fast it is depends on skill, setup and electronics used. the latest version is the T6.4 which was released a few months back.
I haven’t had to buy anything yet. Let’s see how far I can get.
No plans for electronics yet. I’m just winging it. I’ll get in another hour tomorrow. Always takes me the longest to find parts in my inventory. I will have to...

After a little cleanup, I can tell this chassis used to have a rpm chassis brace and front bumper.
I bought the chassis with turnbuckles, front tower, front arms and top plate. And the wrong chassis plate! It came with a T4/B4 chassis plate and...
It would seem that way but this is also the company that couldn't shoot the regular nylon into molds and be able to sell parts they had instead discontinued. They could have made good money on parts for the last few years but chose not to. I don't...
Been at this one for a while now and finally about to wrap it up. All parts are scaled 1/2 from the 12e making it a 1/24 car. Fits slot bodies but I'm struggling to find a nice early 80s stock car for it. I made a few concessions along the way but...
So, I got a nice t4 that was run on road from what I could tell. Been sourcing some decent stuff to get it into “truck” form again. So, it came with the stock shocks. Not bad units, but I was hoping to add some newer big bores possibly. I could not...

Can someone explain the difference in trailing axels vs. the T4 regular axels?
The first versions of the B/T4 had traditional front axles and bearings in the wheels, which had trailing (vs inline) caster blocks. Later models used hex wheels, also...
I've got this little RC28T and feel like it could be fun around the house. It has one major flaw though. It has no radio. Associated doesn't sell a replacement either. So I'm thinking that it just needs a new chassis loaded up with the smallest...
There's a lot of cool features out there in RC that would make setup easier but are often just not on race buggies. Here's a couple I've always wanted:
Droop Screws
Personally I don't understand why 1/10scale buggies almost never have droop...

There's still new kits with E-clips? most of the new ones i have built are captured style except for the retro kits. The Mini JRX2/T are probably the worst offenders with even smaller E-clips

It's a rainy ugly late-November Sunday, so I finished up my BBX today.
It's pretty much stock except for the optional slipper clutch. It has a HobbyWing Quicrun ESC with a 10.5 turn Quicrun sensored motor. I installed a 25 tooth pinion as well.
I...

I believe that the wheels are the same size as touring cars, so you should have plenty of options.
Who has drives this car? Does it make for carpet or dirt? Any comments?

I've not seen the SB-401R but I do have their S1V3 kit. Top marks for the kit build and quality, it is a very nice with great parts. I have spares but nothing has broken yet.
Minus points for the transmission FD ratio, it makes finding the right...
Had a couple days of down time since I broke a coupler on my machine so I built up a kit from the stash. I didn’t really want the rally look but I liked the idea of a new 4x4 platform so I built it up as a street version. The chassis is interesting...

Sadly they are hard to find, short of getting them from rcmart
A DR10 was sitting idle with only a dozen runs on it, each one ended with the car sliding on its roof.
After reading this thread I started ordering parts.
The chassis, shock towers, and front bumper were dirt cheap off of ebay. The v2 shocks,...

Ran in to another problem, my smallest esc would not fit between the battery and front bulkhead. After quite a bit of fiddling I gave up on the transverse mounted battery.
A couple of hours later a new chassis brace popped out of the printer. There...

Things to do in the future:
-Get the correct wing painted
-Get electronics that are more accurate to what Masami uses
-Find a place to get the hop-up parts that doesn't want my first born for shipping.
Started my new wheeler build. B74.2d with 1up racing upper titanium screws, jconcepts turnbuckles, Associated aluminum lite weight center shaft kit. I will be running 13.5 with this.
This is the build thread for the garden tractor class puller I've been working on. It comes with a bit of a backstory that I touched upon in the bored thread in which I'll reiterate here.
Back in July I happened upon a garden tractor class puller...

Good, glad that helped. Anti-sieze is always a great idea with stainless steel, regardless of the other material.
This project started with a new partially assembled RC10B4. This could be the stealthiest RC10 of all time. Except for the shocks, this is as blacked out as a buggy can be!
I came across blue anodized suspension arms for the B4 (not sure who the...

Thank you for the suggestions. I have been very lucky with this project. I have an Avante MK2 and realized that the Tamiya shocks were the same length as the B4, and the color matched the color of the suspension arms! The plastic associated ball...
