Hello all, I see a few familiar faces from clodtalk here. I figured I'd share my latest clod-build here. Not as crazy as some of my previous builds, but I think it's proving to be pretty well-balanced.
Basically stock, except for the e-maxx shocks...

Goldrush and I did a trade. He sent me a great starting point for a Clodbuster basher. I needed to source some of the electronics and some extra parts, but I finally have it together.
I haven't gotten a nice pretty body for it yet, that'll come in...

Yeah. I want to go up in teeth and then turn up the punch and timing. Currently the ESC and motor are set to zero punch and timing so there's a lot more power still in there, but it'd be bad on the gear boxes to do it with the gearing the way it is...
Hey everybody. Just thought I would share my latest project that is nearing completion. I wanted to build a stockish Clod but with a theme. A friend over on Clodtalk gave me some ideas and The first Excaliber MT came about. Well after months of...

Yep, You can run just one battery with the EVX-2 ESC. I use a pig tail on the none BEC side and plug the battery into the other connector. I have ran two batteries on this set up in my other Clod, but the motors get super hot. Two 2S lipos are just...
I started on this Clodbuster a few weeks back and have been updating a current build thread over at Clodtalk.
Basically I started with a busted truck from eBay and scratch built the chassis, links, shock mounts, upper link mounts, (lowers were...

Got the truck running, took it for a test drive and broke a couple things. Nothing big. The truck with 5.5s is super quick, pulling wheelies. This will be a fun truck to drive around the house.
Everything is being ano'd hard black right now so when...
Well here is my newest acquisition, I love the custom Clodbuster trucks, I should have the truck in a couple weeks, Here are the pics from the listing and what is was built with.

100mm yeah racing shocks. about 10 bux a pair and are actually pretty nice.
i run a set of 80mm on my race clod.
This project started shortly after the 09 vintage nationals. I saw the one Clod out in heavy metal class and had to build a vintage Clod to run next year. I had a nice old Sassy chassis in my collection, so that was the start. I added ESP links to...
Hey guys just got my first clodbuster (super clod chrome edition).
I wanna modify this beast but don't really know much. Ive heard there are mods that are a must.
Can someone give me some links to things like shocks, what kind of 4 link kit ect. on...
My buddy is building his clod from the ground up buying NIP parts from ebay etc.
Today he told me his moters aren't quite right on the gearbox: the gears don't run smooth.
Looking at the pinions he got I think he may have bought the wrong pitch....

Thanks for your confirmation.
My friend's no racer and wants to keep it pretty much stock... boring I know
I tried convincing him if he's going to want to run it without damage he should get the lexan shell from parma and at least wideners;...
I was never into these as a kid, but rather did the buggy thing with a Tamiya Hornet and then the gold pan RC10. I think I might like to get a Clod for my kid but I'm not sure what to expect. What do I need to get the two motors and 4 wheel steering...

Im hoping the Post Office will pay for the damages & then it will be a shelfer & i wont worry about the bad discription
It got the bed mount bent & a crack in the back corner of the cab during shipping & 1 shock shaft bent too...
I'm a 30-something and I grew up on the Clod Buster. Back in 1989 when RCCA did the Clash of the Titans series with Double Dare and ClodBuster, they used the original Tamiya GREEN Bowtie ClodBuster that made the impression on everyone's mind that...

Great looking rig, I have to say standard Clods do it for me 8)
Not only is this a bowtie body, but you also got the super rare Chevrolet logo on the bed stripe
I have had a Clod that I got in a lot and recently got the parts together to get it going.I have a few questions.I have heard of people saying they need to retime one motor but when I look at it I seem to think the motors are running the same way.I...

The rear motor is reverse rotation.
If the motors have adjustable timing rotate the endbell 180 deg for the rear motor.
If the motors are at zero deg you can just reverse the polarity.
I usually run 17T or 19T motors, just depends how fast you want...
I just came across this site. I don't remember a truck called the Terminator, but I see a lot of the Clodbuster in it. You think this may have been the truck that inspired Tamiya? I'm fairly confident that Rolling Thunder (also pictured on this page...

i'm surprised nobody has mentioned the obvious bullhead inspiration.
Here is a build I am doing right now. It started out as a Super Clod and then four days later transformed into the Clodzilla 2. I haven't driven it since the zilla 2 chassis was setup. I am having the body painted by 87fierogt, so I thought now...

god damn i cant wait to see this body finished and mounted on the truck itll look good with the mild body mods on it. can someone grab a pic with the body on and the truck fliped over? im trying to get a feel for how it looks along with a pic of the...
Can anyone suggest some replacement tires for the Clod for the standard OE wheels? I have looked on ebay and really didn't like what I saw there. I am not much for the super agressive look. Form over function in this case (that should be obvious to...

I know this is an old thread but incase anyone was wondering, yes the USA-1 tires fit the clod rims. I have pictures if anyone is interested.
What ever happened to the coolest r/c monster truck ever?
Check out this auction, I've been watching it since it was posted. A Clod with a TTR Centurion chassis, the original, not the special edition, probably the most collectible and hard to find...
