One of my front shocks has a busted center rod, so I think I need to replace it. But I can't find replacement Yokomo shocks anywhere I've looked, including eBay.

The RC10 Classic shocks have a million different parts... I got the part numbers from Associated. In case anyone else might find these useful, here they are.
Front shocks (needed for two shocks):
Shock body 6449 x2
Shock caps 6450 x2
Rod ends 6468...
We have a slightly busted Yokomo YZ-10 purchased by me in NJ USA during the 1990s, photos below. It was amazing until I crashed it into a car tire, causing the graphite front shock tower to break and also bending a front drive shaft....

So far I've replaced the front magnesium bulkhead, front shock tower, all of the shocks, and a couple of hinge pins.
I used the re-release RC10 shocks, which turned out awesome, and were apparently the correct replacement shocks back when this...
Well I have been gathering parts for this car for a little while as I have been tossing things around on it but decided to get on this.. Here are the parts I am staring with:

870C Arms
Yokomo Long Front Axles
Yokomo 3.5MM hubs...

This isn't really going to be a build thread. More of a questions and comments section. When I built this car I had never intended to post it. I actually wasn't even a member of rc10talk. Well now I am and let the sharing begin
I do have a...

woohoo! Got my proto-types today.
First: pics!

I test-fitted the rear one and noted some small alterations needed:
a bit too tight at the gearbox side for the plastic gearboxes. (I took the measurements...
I'm rebuilding the YZ-10 I posted on this forum at
I disassembled and degreased the shocks. Before filling them again, I noticed that the 870C manual, which is the only manual I have, shows a different assembly for the interior of...

I was never able to get the shocks to expel the silicone oil.
I just filled them to what seemed like the right amount and got them to work very nicely. They actually rebound fully without the springs!
Anyone have some pics of the car used during the 1998 World cup in UK?
During the perfect world of David Spashett, the Yokomo team, used a proto of touring car.
I've never seen any good pic of that car, in the magazine was named YR4M2 J, but it's...

Roman You're a friends, it' about 20 years that I'm looking for that pics, I've bought a lot of magazine but I've never find that.
Thank You very much
Has anybody bought into yz4 yet? Im wondering what size bearings the layshaft slipper assembly rides in. Also, has anybody compared the axle cvd assemblies to vintage yz10 units to see if they will fit any older models?
I have an early Yr-4 that I have done a custom conversion on basically turning it into a Yz10 without the Yz10 if that makes sense. It has the motor mount / center bulkhead from a Yr-4 and currently has a spur and rear drive pulley combo from I...

The slipper clutch assembly for later yz10 will go right into the standard center motor mount bulk head. They are a bit hard to find, and lately, might as well be gold plated. Folks are getting top dollar for completed units. that being said, theres...
Hi all, here is my YR4 M2 Pro chassis... Most will probably think I am mad but I plan to convert it to, as much like as I can, a Dogfighter of some sort so I can race it.
I will need lots of old/new parts and I will be relying on help from here...

the black bulkhead caps for early yr4 show up from time to time on ebay as the least expensive option. white bulkhead caps in good condition are tough to find easily.
Not a buggy, but very, very close to the buggy design.
I just couldn't resist.
The only things I replaced are the wheels and tires and I just happened to have that blue anodised front bulkhead hanging around.
The machine is in absolute...

I got the car second hand with the part already mounted. I think Kose or team suzuki could be the manufacturer. But liquid rc had a gpm one on their site for a long time. No picture though, so I never took the plunge.
It won't fit the original under-tray, but hey . it's cheap and readily available. Plus I really love the look of it: got a bit of starwars, batman and spidermans goblin all mixed into one mean lean machine....

It took me a long time to collect each special parts for this project.

Also re Akerman, what are those front knuckles you have there, they dont look to be Yokomo. maybe YR4 or more like Kyosho with the reinforcement and kicked out arm.. could they be causing the issue?...
The actual jammin top deck is pretty wastefull of material. I have tried to make it more efficient, while retaining front tower support. Less wasted material on the sides.
Im not a fan of the style,, could be made more curvy like 91 or 93,, or just...

Ok, Thanks! It just adds confusion to my trying to keep up with Yokomo design changes. Ive been trying to nail down shock tower differences, and if thats a 94 manual, then Im still confused. Dont want to hijack this thread,,Thanks for the info!...
Have an 870C project and need kingpins. Are they the same size across the models? any suitable out there that are readily available? I was looking around for a screw/bushing setup as a replacement since it seems that tends to be more common.

I wonder if these would fit? Theres a crap ton of cheap king pins on ebay,, but no idea which ones would fit!

All credit to you for keeping this original. If there are any non-original parts in it, I guess they could be swapped out over the years as you find the originals

Can someone please advise on the correct front shock mount for the WCS.

You need to remember one thing Neil it's Masami's car so it's been massively customised and it was a prototype to begin with. The 93WCS front tower is a 94 one like Duel said, Masami's front and rear have just been shaved to save weight to along...

Is there a special part for the centre brace on the WCS rear shock mount.
The part that goes between the rear bulkhead and the rear shock mount.
It looks like a servo mount.
What have people used for this ?
Thanks,

It is like a servo mount but I don't think it's a kyosh one, as the one I got from Dan for mine was different to the one I had on my original car. It's close but it's not the same.
After examining a parts lot from ebay, I noticed it was mostly 94+ YZ10 parts. Looks like it will be fun to build a 93 WCS car using the bits I have mixed with some Fibre Lyte parts. I'm assuming I can use an 870c rear bulkhead with the shock tower...
