I am tired of trying to figure out what is what regarding the Kyosho prefixes on the part numbers. So let's start our own Kyosho secret decoder ring! You guys keep posting, and I will keep updating the first post to have one attempted complete list....

Just a small anecdote regarding the option parts: W => double V => short for double => improvement - it's one of those Japanese things where a term gets contracted into something very short that is barely comprehensible outside Japan.
Though it's probably going to take a while to finish, because projects I undertake normally do and this one has been running longer than any other so far, I've gotten to the point where my Super Rocky is starting to resemble what I had envisioned....

I don't think I'm ever going to find the time to get back into modelling a whole new chassis for this project so I'm abandoning that path and going back to where this started, which was piecing together an independent front suspension setup from...
This is a replica I am doing using all vintage parts....it's replicating an Ultima the Diamond 💎 One raced in the 80's....the chassis was a beat up pile I restored, along with the TrackMaster tranny...it will be a slow process, but here's the start...

I have a question regarding replacing NiCad battery packs with NiMH on my 80s-vintage Kyosho Rocky. I assume the speed controller and motor were spec'd at the time to be able to dissipate the heat over the runtime of a NiCad battery pack. Since it...
Resurrecting what may be the worst, drug through the mud, rode hard put up wet, beaten, thrashed, trashed, bent and broken mid ever sold on the internet.

The gear I was going to use to replace the Kyosho OT-86 counter gear was a Robinson RRP-3750 for Optima Mid.
The Robinson is a much better gear than the poor excuse for a gear that Kyosho made but the Robinson is 32p....
IMO, the best looking monster truck of the '80s was the Kyosho Double Dare! Not the best at really anything else, but looks wise, the DD does it for me!! :D So, through horse trading, I have ended up with two semi-crappy Double Dares, so might as...

Save the front strut tower (waiting on the motor), it is a slider. I don't know if Kyosho's plan was just to shove all the wiring under the MSC, but that is what ended up happening to get it all to fit. I have to confess that the MSC that I got was...
I recently dusted off the Rocky 4WD I built in the early 80s and used and handful of times around my yard back then. It's fully functional and I'm wondering if there's a market for these. Any info anyone might have would be greatly appreciated! It's...

I guess I do too. The Falcon was my 1st ride... It's not like us vintage R/C nerds buy these things to turn a profit; maybe it's just nice to know some of the boxes in my closet are valuable... and also a little annoying that Kyosho seems...
So, in another post I mentioned I got a little crazy and bought all the Kyosho Lazers:
A Lazer ZX-R Mk2 from Pakistan
A Lazer ZX-R from eBay
And a Lazer ZX from Facebook
I got them in that order and did so because they were in...

Is that chassi that grey irl ???
Sort of? I think it's the fibers in the material reflecting light. If I pick it up and turn it, some angles it's shiny, others its the same darkness as, say, the drive belt.
I been waiting to get started on this restoration for over a year....since then i have been aquiring parts. This is the way the car came from ebay except i took engine out and shocks off.

Been looking for last couple of years and grabbed this from Japan.

These had dogbones from the factory with the W-5061 universals being optional. I don’t know if there were any aftermarket cvds.. The spur gear should be regular 48 pitch, the Lazer ZXR and Triumph were some of the first Kyoshos to switch to 48...
Hey all. I have a line on a pretty good deal on a NIB 1992 HOR, and I have always liked these from afar, but know nothing about them. I also see I can purchase a brand new model for a bit cheaper, and it looks identical. Being a vintage guy, the '92...

As is typical, I'm confused and have questions.

Know anyone with a modern tra**as 2wd? The newer ones use pin drive but have a stoopid offset gear. Drag race concepts make a pin drive slipper eliminator that uses standard gears.
Hello everyone, it’s been a while.
I’ve just purchased a Landjump 4D.
It hasn’t arrived yet so I’m waiting with anticipation.

These USA-1 NC's are both from Tower Hobbies, and were bought in 2000, they both have OS .21 RG motors, and haven't been run in nearly 20 years. I believe 2005 was the last time these ran. They are 100% complete, and were put away working. Both...

I just looked through Team Blue Groove's site, they actually have the Boogey Van:

Came with the original body and no scratches on it's belly.
The body quality is very poor with many bumps and imperfections. But it is...

Hello Coel,
Low to the ground, swoopy lines with some added details. Almost MantaRay'ish. I like it too.
I agree the decals leave a lot to be desired.
This particular car did beg for box art, in my opinion, due to it's pristine nature.

I really like these and I noticed they just did a re-release. My concern is will there be spares for repair or do they just intend for them to sit on display. I can't help but want a Dirtmaster as well.
Did Kyosho make any Micro Block tires in a traditional 2wd front width?

Well I decided to just ride it out. A pretty obscure set of old tires is cool enough and I'll just toss the 5641's in the swappy/buildy options box. But......Antony at KyoshoSpares out of the UK nailed it! He was kind enough to adjust his shipping...
Not really sure if it was a Kyosho Pegasus or Cosmo which my neighbor had at the beginning of the 90s, but I remember it drove circles round my (already aged) ´79 Tamiya Roughrider (which I bought 2nd hand and lacking of available spareparts was in...
When I say 13 years, I mean I bought this 13 years ago, but only just decided to rebuild it. I sourced some bearings and used everything else that came with the car. The only thing that hasn’t gone back into it is the Lemans 480T, That has been...

I don't know, but my guess is that the original parts would have faded over the decades. Javelin is what, 35 years old? 38? If it is a runner it may not matter.
Also just a guess, but I think you have to buy the complete set anyway, so you could...
