So, inspired by MXACRES on YouTube I’m building a Bandit from the ground up because I figure if I bought the buggy whole, I’d wind up replacing everything eventually, so why not just build it from the ground up with good parts to begin with(?)....

I‘m really liking your build.
Now there are some things that many say makes it hard to make the Bandit competitive.
One is he length for a buggy. The Bandit is still longer than the B4 +8 buggy. As your picture shows:
Well, with my pile of parts it turns out I have collected enough parts to put together 90% of another truck. I always liked the looks of Kyosho ST's, so this is the hodgepodge I came up with.
It's been a while but I'm back to working on my MM Rustler project. I've decided to design a new version which is why I've started this new thread. It's been a long time since I started my original mid motor conversion and in that time I've gotten...

5/3/2024 Race Update
Last night I had this car out at Pit Stop hobbies for another Friday night race program. The car was much faster this week with the changes I had made. I beat my fast lap by 0.7s and I ran a 15/8:15 in the main compared to the...
Started into a Bullet refresh this weekend. Original plan was to go all out, and get the best of everything, but found out most of the parts I had (from two parts cars) cleaned up pretty well, so just decided to refresh it, and only replace what was...

Well I think I got it wired correctly. If/when I put power on it, we'll see. :D IMO, looks so much better without the brick there! The body and roll cage are probably going to end up being future projects, so it will probably be sitting like this...
Im definitely Team Tamiya but traxxas had some beautiful stadium trucks. I dont like traxxas new builds even tho I hear they are very tough and have great quality parts but to me they lack the style of their older models so when I saw the traxxas...
I recently got a wild hair and decided to pull my old nitro hawk out and give it a bit of a freshen up. My uncle gave this to me probably 20 years ago. Back then I modified it for a standard style crank, and put a disc brake setup on from a nitro...

Yeah, wasn't paying attention to part numbers. When you stated steel my mind went to the hardened aluminum idler like you posted last. Thats the only way I've ever built them that they lasted anyway. Wasn't thinkin steel.
Looks like a TRX-1 on a TRX-3 prototype chassis from the limited pics. So not going to be a true replica.

Looking for another set of springs that will fit old Traxxas Blue Eagle or SRT shocks. The two sets of springs I currently have on my SRT and my bro's Blue Eagle have an O.D. of 16.5mm. My old AE springs are 15.5mm O.D. and new Traxxas springs (part...

Older Losi springs, the larger size Tamiya CVA's, and maybe ECX (slightly larger than AE).
Alternatively, you could use a spring collar and different cups, allowing you to use larger springs.
I think I'm going to have a lot of trouble finding a complete TRX-1 gearbox for my buggy. While searching, it looked to me like I might be able to make a Bandit gearbox work. I actually thinking of a modified RPM Bandit gearbox so I would get an...
Hey guys does anyone know if these will fit a blue eagle ls
Cheers adrian
Last post
Yes. The blue Eagle LS and Rustler share the same part numbers for the outdrives, driveshafts, and stub axles. Rear arms are the same length between the two as well.
i sold one and this is the only one i have updated with correct red painted very fragile slightly cracked body. still on the hunt for the chassis cover knocked some of the dust off for pics lol. . IMG_0909.jpg IMG_0910.jpg IMG_0911.jpg
i hope i did??? the shocks just dont look right from the cars i have seen. any info would be a big help thanks.

It’s looking swell in the end. The open battery tray does make it look like back section could break straight off after the smallest jump. Could one fit a hotshot under battery stiffener or whatever that frp part is called?
So I found a box in my garage. An old Traxxas Bullet model that's been stored and not run for a very long time. I can't find the transmitter for the radio, and who knows if the battery can even be charged any more......

In that case, don't forget that those servos are wired in the old Airtronics pinout. Using them in a standard format (Futaba/JR/Hitec type) receiver will definitely fry the servo and possibly the receiver.
Picked up this TRX-1 over the summer. The 2WD collection is nearly complete!
The diff and shocks are dry and tires are cracked. But, it's in good shape and should clean up well. The bottom deck has only a couple minor skuffs and looks like it was...

Yep, stunning lack of Cougars. STUNNING I say!
j/k That is an amazing collection, and a neat idea. I wonder if they ever all raced together at a big event?
I was fortunate enough to acquire this NIB Traxxas TRX1 several months ago. The box and packaging are lovely. I really want to build it up, but so far I haven't been able to get myself to cut open the pristine sealed packages, filled with fresh 1991...

I know this request is a little late since you already installed the motor, but did you happen to take any pictures of the front of the can? I'm really curious what the can looks like on a 100% Air Supply motor. I'm wondering if it's as unique as...
I feel that something that's missing in this area is a consolidated thread that people can refer to when searching for parts or mods for their TRX-1s. Before I go on, I am anything but a guru on the car, i picked up a couple of them and...

Legacy model lists are still up on. The traxxas website

I think I have a company that can make these Chassis.
Does anyone have CAD or a drawing of one?

I know that A&L dogbones for the TRX-1 are longer for a Lethal Weapon application. You might have those or some truck dogbones. Because standard A&L bones for the TRX-1 stock trans. are a direct fit.
This is sort of a branch off from the Mini Jrx2 thread. Jeff pointed me to some Traxxas Hawk cad files and being as the hawk was my first performance RC I have been considering making a mini version of it as I have been designing all these parts for...

A while ago I picked up my son a Traxxas Slash kit for his birthday to introduce him to a proper hobby build. The build made me reminisce of the Traxxas Hawk 2 and Traxxas TRX-3 I had back in the day, before I stepped away from the hobby years ago....

Yeah, if you go with the proposed Talon name (in RCCA sneak peek bitd ), the color swoops do look talonesque and do fit the contours very well. I think the shading/color...
I'm searching for motor plate dust covers for both my Blue Eagle and SRT. The Traxxas parts lists for both trucks indicate dust cover part #1987. While searching I'm also finding dust cover part #1988, which all have been clear. And the #1987 dust...

Do you still have the motorplate 2d cad file for available?
Picked up my 3rd Nitro Nawk. I had no choice. Nostalgia got the best of me!

IIRC there was a white and black version of the idler. For some reason, I remember the black ones being more durable. But to tell you the truth, I never had an issue with the white ones. But I was a stock motor club racer kid.
I put this up on rctech also but I wanted to see what you guys thought. Not an original idea just something I thought would be fun to mess with.

Will clutch bells from other makes/models fit the Nitro Hawk/Buggy/Street, or are their long crank clutch bells proprietary?
For example, will #4120 fit (bell for n rustler/pede), or a bell for 10GT?
Guessing 10GT used standard sized bearings and...

Sorry, should have clarified that I'm using the Image .12, but the same bell part numbers are used with all N Hawk long crank engines (Image, TRX .12, TRX .15).

I'm going to be re-anodizing a couple sets of Traxxas blue shock bodies and caps for my TRX1 and N Hawk. I'm trying to determine if they should be 'type II' soft anodized or 'type III' hard anodized. Also trying to determine if they'll need to be...

I've done a little reanodizing of RC10 tubs and other small bits with local anodizer. The finish varies a lot based on prep. Just take it to them with no prep kind of a dull. A little fine sanding finishing working up to say 2000 grit its better but...
