Yeah, one was anodized in a separate batch than the other. The same question has been raised on the anodize tint grade to associated, and as far as I can recall, there was no intention on the shade of gold. The color simply just differed depending...

Lots more done today and i must say this has been great to build. I installed new RPM ball cups today only to find that the ball cup on the shock tower and the inner ball cup mounted on the steering rack hit so i need to order some stock associated...

man thats a nice gold pan! them parts look nice and white to me, i got a 98%minty fresh tub , but the nylon is yellowed up, tires are brand spanking new never used. down here in hawaii, the parts yellow very quickly , the nylon was a decent white...

if you do that, make sure you use some kind of light grease on the gears, since the trans will be all metal.

It is cold outside! Today was a good day and do inside project so I picked this back up and cleaned...wow what a difference. Still don't know exactly what I have but it doesn't look like it will take much to get it good. Tell me what you would do,...

looks like a team car with worlds pieces, explains the u joints, 2.0 rear wheels and non machined chassis tub.
thought the worlds car came with u joint driveshafts?

Yeah i saw that that about two weeks ago and said the same thing.I can do the same thing at work for free.I have purchased a couple of items from them and they did arrive as advertised.

Just an FYI - I ordered a pack of those stand-offs from Sheldon's and they are the same 1 ones used on the RC10 chassis. All 6 are tapped for 4-40 screws.

i dont see any time soon the b4 being phased out till the b5 is due even then you will beable to find parts and kits for a while longer. just like u can find a far amount of b3 parts still.

I was going to say, if I am marshaling a race you are in, I'm waiting until your car comes to a stop before I get it; no catching-and-release here LOL

Thanks ace028, I am looking forward to seen you Ultima. The last thing on this Buggy is I adapter a modern RC10B4 dust cover. I am running a B4 slipper clutch so I adapted the dust cover.

I'll post a pic if needed, but you notch the diff rings at the inner lip, then drill a hole on both alum diff halves at the same point, insert the same size roll pin (needs to be cut flush with the diff ring)
and wala!

remember cliff lett's rc10 graphite dirt oval racer from the ads?

the graphite chassis' wouldn't last long on the bumpier and big jump tracks.
after a couple of hard landings or running-into's, that chassis would be toast. i remember clearly...

The shaft and nut move in/out and up/down very slightly. I think this might be causing the spur gear to wobble. Are these normal tolerances? Or should the shaft not move at all? I'm thinking of putting in a new drive gear and shaft to see if it goes...

Great looking cars. I especially like the blue aluminum pan. Is that a team car setup you have or something else?
