This is a tribute to the great line of RC10 buggies produced since 1984-2009 (RC10 - RC10B4). This is a work in progress. It will take some time and help from fellow members, as we all learn new things about the different versions. So please be...

Question I haven't found a firm answer for... it seems some RC10's have much whiter Nylon than others. I'm not talking about dirt or oxidation/aging etc.. just simply as they came some cars had much whiter nylon. I know this because I was fortunate...
I built this a few months ago with the leftover spares I've received in parts lots, and decided to take some winter-themed photos.
This is the first off-road RC10 I've built...everything else has been on-road oriented.
The chassis is an A-stamp...

I see a trend that brushless motors are the norm and brushed motors are going out like a vhs tape.
I ask a question: Can a '10 6 gear handle a brushless set up, and how hot can you go before nuclear melt-down.
My other question involves running a...

Yeah, I agree, brushless makes perfect sense, and if I were to start from scratch I would go with it, but I already have 6 or 8 ESCs, a bunch of leftover motors, and about 20-odd cars and trucks (not all of which are full runners at one time of...
I got this old RC car magazine with a poster spread through a fellow board member just for these two RC10 posters. Got them framed at a local framing shop where the lady has done some of my car posters in the garage. Figured I needed some...
Hello all. I aquired a Houge RC10 chassis recently and I'm looking for any info that would help me in getting it back together. I have a chassis and arms, but nothing else. I attemped to retro fit some stuff, but I realize that I need help. If...

In your pic of the rear arm mounts looks lik need to change the hinge post to where the nut is and put the screw and nut where the outter post was to make it secure and not fly off and for the dogbone to go in and stay in lol.I got a set of alloy...
I just received a bunch of stuff and it included these, I was wondering who's trailing arms it was designed to fit ? It looks really nice and is standard width at the back to drill but that seems a shame.
Any info appreciated.
Cheers...

i had that chassis and the trailing arms bitd. it was a great set up IMO.
a beastly set up to say the least, very thick chassis and the trailing arms lasted for years, never broke.
Have a question, Is it possible that a box that has the Edinger address, appliqued decals on the ends(kit 6*** less radio and batteries),and a darker gold pan A stamp. The spring retainers are not edge, battery strap is missing, after market steering...

It would seem Associated Electrics operated out of both the Caddilac & the Edinger addresses for a while, I too have a Edinger addressed box... but the spec of the car would suggest that it is an early Caddilac car.... so it would seem that there is...
I wanted to share this with you guys.
A story involving my kids RC10
This is a story from a couple of weeks ago. My Son is a very outgoing person and has no problems making new friends (nothing like his dad). On Sunday we are cleaning his room...

Cool video.
Let me guess the car got crunched by a size 3-5 shoe???
At least the only damage was a shaft. If you run out of parts, let me know I have a pretty decent stash of parts that will work great for that application.
G'day guys
We had a vintage meet the other wekend, in the rain, again. I raced my rc10 SS in 2WD stock. Had a ball.
I think I got hit by everysingle other driver on the last run so the body has had it. But with all the reinforcements that I had made...

at this point, the sidewinder body is pretty tough to find, so ebay would be your best bet. the other option is to hang around here long enough, someone might be able to hook you up.
First off I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mike Bartino and I live in Ontario, Canada. My main area of the rc hobby right now is flying turbine jets and other aircraft. I have a serious interest in vintage cars mainly from all...

i've never got a definative answer on that, but it's most likely just a stock fiberglass tower, with 2 new holes drilled lower than the factory ones to gain more ride height, and then dyed black.
The R/C gods were smiling down upon me today!! Attended a local R/C swap meet and purchased a NIB RC-10 Team Car.....still in the plastic with the original factory seal on it.
Can't say what I paid for it..but I assure you it was next to nothing...

Yes I sold that buggy to a dear friend, kinda of regretted it.......thankfully I found a worlds car new in box still in the plastic!!! But this one stays with me!! SO now I have 5 rc10's enough parts to build 2 more....can you say down with...
I'm starting out with a 10T chassis, nose plate, and rear bulkhead.
Can I make a buggy out of that?
Can I use an rc10gt rear bulkhead??
Should I use a 10t rear tower?

Oh yeah, that was all the info I needed, awesome thread... Imma go with a B2 or B3 body, if I can get it to fit...can't wait to get started on it, gotta get the chassis powder coated first...:D

What brushless will a stealth tranny be able to handle without issues? 13T? 8T?
I'm running my runners with 7.5T, 10.5T, 11.5T, and 13.5T without any problem.
but the stock slipper disks and pads were rather samll for brushless setup to me. B3...
Found this video on youtube by accident today, has some guy running his vintage RC10 buggy and body paint around a carpet off-road race track.
Nice job!
By the way, how do I embed youtube videos here?

Carpet racing 's been around for a long time for off-road. It's a great aid to simplify track maintenance especially when the track is not liased to a shop and depends on volunteers. Check out his vid of a race I participated at in 2009. No way you...
i built this up for my 2010 vonats car (if i make it there) i still have to add the nose of the body or a small wing in it's place. i'll post some body off pics when i get the electrics in it.

Thanks! I just didn't want to go black, everyone does that. I have an idea for a paint scheme that'll set this off nicely and keep some of the flavor from the original car.
Hello,
I dug out my original RC10 buggy (Gold Pan w/ bearings) a few weeks ago. It was in decent shape but I upgraded the motor and set it up for Lipos. Still runs well. I also acquired a 2nd one on a whim and it is setup for street/indoor running....

this method is a little more crude, but it works. you can take a 1/4 stub axle with the pin in place, and clamp it in a set of vise grips. take the axle and heat it up with a propane torch then carefully press it into the wheel. the key...
I have loved the RC10 since it came out. I only have a few of them but I have done my best to make each one of them really nice. I seek out rare and cool parts to make each one unique.

this one in tower looks an awful lot like the B2, moreso than the B3 body you have included. it's the 6142. Is this a case where tower has the wrong picture?

I guess I should take the same approach with rc cars as I do with my real cars. Build them nice enough to show on occasion, and enjoy running/driving them. If it breaks, oh well that's why there's tools!
Does anyone have a good source for the fiberglass sheets to cut different shock towers out? I'm looking for 12x12 or 24x12 sheets of fiberglass that looks, or is the same as the original use by AE.

The Teflon-coated, black-cap shocks would have come out with the Team Car in 1990, with the Stealth tranny. The previous cars, the Graphite and Championship Edition (had the 6-gears), would have had the old bottom-load shocks. The shocks you saw...

If there is a slight gap between tires bead and the rim use rubber bands around the rim it grips at both surfaces and keeps from glue them in place.DON  8)
