I have a huge collection of oval racing reports from here in the UK from the early 70s through to the late 90s and so figured might as well upload some of the larger events and create an archive of a once hugely popular but now rapidly dwindling...

I talked to Don Jones last Sunday, he still has his 2WD Mod winning car in his basement. He said it was built off a piece of graphite with a kickup. Rc10 short arm parts on the front, rear trailing arms, Kyosho shocks. He told me he almost let Mike...
I thought that the Euros may be of interest with the release of the new Optima. This was the time when the Optima was king and took over from the RC10.
Came across this article in Model Car Magazine in November of the 1988 Rallycross worlds in Italy. I hope it is of interest to people and isn't a repost.
i am looking for a race report of the 1997 IFMAR Worlds Warm-Up at the Ranch Pit Stop, mainly because i am looking for details on Masami's and other's 1997 Yok.

Found this from Youtube some time ago: .
The track wasn't so smooth after all  unlike I first thought and wrote there above. It rather seemed to be very bumpy.
Attached are scans from of the Worlds warm-up from Romsey (Spring International) in 1987.

Oh yes, the worlds warm up race. My buddy and me were running 4WD there but just didn´t get our cars (and the drivers) working there so decided to visit the worlds later just as spectators. So seeing Masami doing his first worlds title, great...
This is the race report from Radio Control Model Cars on the 1993 IFMAR off-road world chapionships. It is large so the rest of the article is in post part 2.

Good work Luke - I remember being there, but watching not driving :-(
Just found this thread, and wanted to say thanks for uploading the pics.
I managed to buy the actual car Craig used to win this race, although not the body.
Now if only i could get some of the folks that attended to sign the autograph section in the back

Well it must be fate.. I bought a Cougar from ebay last week, and look what came with it 8)
So now I have 2 of the programmes. The best bit is, the new one is signed all over the place. I'm still trying to figure out some of the signatures....
Here'a a scan of the very first Pro 10 euro champs from 1990

Thanks Paul, interesting scan from that Pro10 Euros.
I was attending most of the Pörtschach International races but missed that one. Beside this and a 1/12 Euros all other races were offroad where drivers from all over the world attended including...
I have some bad memories from this championship. In the 4WD qualifications I was battling it out with two other guys wining the qualifying heats. And when I got the changes to run on new prepared track I snapped my long drive-belt after the first...

Sweet!. I too though I would never see a video of that race. I can be seen @ 28:24 (in the black jacket), then a pic of my sponsor holding my Cougar 2000 before the start. One can get a good idea of what the event was like, and how the surface was...
I know there was a ban on cobalt magnets for some time...
Ah, don't recall that in the states. Thanks!

This time a little more exotic scan:

The track was very slippery, it was necessary for each pack of new tires.
The track was not very interesting.
For me its a D final with tamiya top force.
Here's a copy of the 1/12th world champ from Singapore. From Oct 1990 Radio Race Car.

and larger diameter foams maurice. versus the ridiculously rubberband thin foams of today.
Oh yeah, good call, now the foams are insane - super big wheels and a millimeter worth of foam -
Here's a race report from the 1983 euro champs held in Milan Italy.

Sorry, no digital pictures of my Panther car, to early for that. I left racing in 1985 when i graduated mech engineer and started working. I wrote a small book of chassis tuning and car setup (in danish) and had Ole Harder publish it to be...
Thats funny. Totally forgot my RC10 made the magazine. Thats my Black/Blue/Dayglow Red/White body. That was always a fun race. Loved that paint scheme. Used it when I went to Losi too and Korts copied it with yellow in place of red. And I finished...
